So here I am a short 4 months from completing my order. I work an hour from home at a rural ltac/nursing facility. I am so thankful to be working but long to work in a hospital setting closer to home. I've just learned of the nursys.com website/database that has all of our disciplinary history listed on it. I emailed my case manager and was devastated to find out that when I complete my order the disciplinary info will remain on the nursys website indefinitely. Forever. It will show that the order is complete but it will remain there. So here is my question: have any of you who have finished up your orders had trouble finding work as a result of nursys? How many hospital systems use nursys? Can anyone shed some light on my chances of getting a job after my time is up?

Heyo! So I've got good news for you...here in Alaska we get the double whammy! The information is forever listed on our BON and Nursys. Wait for the good news here....I've met several of the nurses listed on my BON, and I am happy to report they are all working, many in the medical fields of their choice, a couple even went on to get ANP. One such nurse landed there ten years ago, still working, still happy. Deep breath, it will be okay. You've got your sobriety and a great chance!

So what I'm hearing is as long as I complete my order and get my license back to good standing then I should be ok to get jobs in hospital systems in a preferred setting. Right?

That is what you are hearing:). I know it's hard...really hard sometimes...to not let fear and uncertainty guide us. Just remember how far you've come, you've probably already surpassed the "impossible" many times. Chin up.
