hi everyone

i am just starting IPN and have my first support group meeting next week. i am required to go to 3 AA meetings a week. My question is, how do they monitor if you attend the AA meetings? I know you have to log them in on the affinity E health site, but how do they know if you actually attend? I've been going to these meetings and I absolutely hate them. I don't get anything out of it. The meetings I go to are just ***** sessions that people come to so they can complain about their family life.

so how does IPN really know that you attend?

thanks, for any info. I think I may try the NA meetings.....

Watch out some group leaders will make you have a sheet signed at each meeting. Also some have been known to show up at the meetings you put down that you attend.

Other nurses may attend these meetings and turn in stuff also, and if yours is vastly different than their report consistently, that could be a red flag. My advice is if you really want to work as a nurse, you jump through the hoops and just get through it. It will be over at some point. See if there is anything you can get from the meetings and leave the rest. Good luck!

We use Affinity and we don't log them there. There is no sign in sheet either. They probably compare them. I attend AA meetings, too. They are okay--I like the womens meetings better than the meetings that are both men and women. I have met nice people though. I have met a few people that I do not care for; but for the most part, they have been nice. Like Blessed said, just jump through the hoops.

In my state, you BETTER watch out- you have to show the BON your (signed) attendance roster for 90 days straight.

IPN Try's to do the honor system with the AA/NA meetings. But I have seen where they have "Requested" a signed attendance sheet.

My advise for you. FIND a meeting that you enjoy. It might take you a couple of meeting jumping around, but I am sure you'll find a meeting that you will enjoy. Maybe talk with other's in your NSG and see where they like to go and maybe go with them.

Wish you the best of luck

I was in Louisianas RNP from 1999 to 2001. Back then we didn't do anything on the computer, but we had a blank calender and had to document every meeting we attended every day - the meeting leader had to sign or initial each meeting. People did start forging the initials of the leaders, and the head of our nursing support meeting started questioning who saw who at the meetings in town.

The few that were forging the initials got caught rel. quickly and were suspended.

I felt kind of like u did, OP. Good luck to u.
