Hello everyone! I just recently passed my NCLEX-RN exam for Hawaii Board of Nursing and is planning to endorse my RN license to Texas. I am a foreign graduate and is also an RN license holder from my home country the Philippines. For those you guys who are internationally educated, did you needed to send a Credential Evaluation Service (CES) and RN License Verification from your home country to Texas Board of Nursing?

Have you reviewed the requirements on the TXBoN website for licensing by endorsement as an internationally educated nurse? But yes in addition to needing a valid SSN for a license to be issued you need a current CES report forwarded directly to TX BoN and verification of your HI & Filipino nursing licenses forwarded to the BoN.

for endorsement:

International Candidates - you will need the following:

Each of these:

all fees

a completed criminal history report

an original Credential Evaluation Service (CES) Full Education course-by-course report sent directly from an approved organization. The Board accepts the CES from any one of these:

the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) http://www.cgfns.org

the Educational Records Evaluation Service, Inc. (ERES) http://www.eres.com, or the

the International Education Research Foundation, Inc. (IERF) http://www.ierf.org.

Note: The CES must be dated within one year of issuance by the certification organization and is required for LVN endorsement only.

a Verification of Licensure (VOL) form from all countries, states, provinces, and/or territories where you hold or have held a license. The VOL must come directly from the licensing authority and must bear the authority's official seal. The VOL is only valid for one (1) year after it is signed and sealed by the licensing authority.

*Note: the CES Full Education course-by-course report will contain your original country of licensure's VOL. A copy of the nursing license is not considered to be an official verification.

Follow the instructions provided on Criminal Background Checks (See 3 under Online Procedures, above.)

Hi! Yes I did! But I was just confused since some of those requirements that they were asking were also the same ones I sent to Hawaii BON when I first applied for my NCLEX.

It's common that states have the same requirements for a nurse applying by endorsement if an IEN as they do for licensing by examination. You can pay a fee for CGFNS to transfer a copy of your CES to TXBoN.

Oh, Alright! Thanks! I still have a long way to go for this endorsement!

Why is this surprising? Each state sets their own requirements, and they usually have additional requirements for internationally educated nurses whetn they are applying for licensure.
