Am i safe 3 years from my msc nursing registration date ?If i do some courses here will that help me to meet the competency gaps in my education and extend my safe practice. If so which course should I do? What month in 2014 did you graduate from the masters program? Your proof of recent experience will expire in that same month in 2017. After you do the OSCE in 2017, you may wait months for a response from CNO and approval to write the NCLEX. If you do not complete all of the registrations steps by the time your proof of practice expires in 2017, you will not be eligible for registration. In order to prevent your experience from expiring, you should work in India as a RN in 2016-2017, that way you will have a new expiry date from the time you stop working. If you stop working in 2016 your proof of experience will expire in 2019, if you stop working in 2017 your proof of experience will expire in 2020.

If you search on AN and the Toronto Star newspaper you will see stories about IENs who ran out of time while trying to become registered in Ontario.

Hi dishes.thank u so much for your response. I contacted cno and theytold me my safe ppractice is already expired as they take into account my last clinical experience which is in 2011.so it expired on 2014.During MSc(2012-2014) I had clinical postings, so won't they consider it? What is the end results for those whose safe practice is already expired. If I go back to my home country to earn clinical experience will they consider as my safe period is already expired.now they advised to complete osce and later they will tell about what to do with the safe practice. I'm not sure what to do. Please reply

I would suggest asking the college if they will accept going back to your own country to work for x months

OSCEs aren't written. They're Objective Structured Clinical Examinations.
