i want to start this thread to know if there is school in southern california or california that accepts 2 subjects or subjects that fulfills requirements for california bon.

for those who are also looking for school lets help each other:0

i also wants to know if theres really a nursing school that accepts ms or ob or subjects that is required by bon to retake due to concurrency issue?

as ive been looking around, calling schools they only accepts 2 years or three and thats to take the entire nursing curriculum...

It needs to be understood that it isn't just Filipino nurses being affected. There are several US states that have this criteria as well and it affects nursing programs that have concurrency issues.....Excelsior College New York grads recently found this an issue.

California has increased/enforcing some new requirements for nursing licensure and it has become difficult for some new grads/nurses to obtain licensure in the state of California.....as well as the 12 other states that have concurrent clinical requirements. This I believe is in response to some of the "newer" nursing schools that are online and has affected US educated nurses as well.

It is not discrimination when the law is evenly applied.

Yes, I have to agree it's not discrimination when there are other states with the same type of rules and regulations plus add to the fact that these rules and regulations are NOT new or even of recent policies, but rather have been established for decades.

Our educational system from the Phils simply didn't have the foresight nor the courage to better comply with the concurrency rules and other courses were left on the table, something they had years to fix. At the same time, CHED don't have to comply with any USA regulations as their primary focus is for the own country's well-being, even tho it's a known fact from the CHED report, that over 33% of PH grads want to make CA their most desired state to work and die in (well, maybe not die in and prefer to retire back in the PH, lol).

It didn't help that the PH system is so broken that they (CHED, etal) just loaded up the colleges to beyond maximum capacities and made a hugh oveflow of students with nowhere to go. All other popular countries have also made entry into the nursing field tougher, now requiring paid nursing experience of at least 2 years.

Canada just recently shut the doors as foreign nurses are no longer considered a needed skilled worker. Nurses are now off the desired list: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2013/2013-04-18.asp

Rather than trying to enroll or find the near impossible CA schools, simply go OUT of STATE, like lyly's friends did as well as SoCalNurse88 who got her ATT in CA for the NCLEX-RN. They were able to satisfy the CA BON requirements to meet the deficient courses without any problems.

Here's their SUCCESS story of how they (more so how SoCal Nurses88) did it!
