NNAS experience?

Does anybody have any experience with NNAS? So far, I've read the site but it would be great to hear from people who have gone through the process :)

@yao-kae Do you have to do an English exam to do the rncompetencies program? If so, then those results exam will not expire for two years and you can use them as proof of English.

Suggest you write to CNO and explain that since completing the nnas assessment, you acquired more recent proof of practice by working as a RN back home, ask if they want a proof of practice letter with from your employer? ask what the employer should include in the letter? If they are willing to accept a letter from your employer now, then you might as well get it done.

If you have been told by CNO to do the jurisprudence exam you can do it now.

Hi @dishes

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I will do that. Btw I thought you dont need the letter from CNO about the Jurisprudence exam?thought you can take it anytime you want?I may need to check their site again :)

I am not sure if it's in letter format, but according to the jurisprudence exam information 'Once applicants have submitted their application form and fee, they will receive information about how to access the website'. Has CNO told you how to access the jurisprudence exam website?

I personally got a letter saying I could go ahead and take the jurisprudence at any time going forward. That was a while ago now though and it seems things have been changing.

Hi @dishes

Yes,I think they did tell me to take jurisprudence exam. I have to check their emails and look for their letters to me, it has been 3 to 4 years since I started my application. To be honest I really didnt think I was going to push my accreditation here bec of all the hurdles that comes with it. But then without perseverance there is no reward.

Hello everyone,

I have a question. Is it worth it to do the NNAS? I also a registered Nurse but i am not in Canada. Has anyone have ever done this? applying to NNAS outside Canada? please help

Hello jmariel. Are you applying outside Canada?

I wanna do the NNAS so bad, but I am outside Canada.

Hi @dishes

Thanks for the video info :)

Hi jmariel! I'm a Philippine registered nurse and I would like to give you my insight regarding the NNAS as much as I can. I started my application with NNAS (for the province of nova scotia) on October last year. Basing from my experience, upon sending the documents in CGFNS/NNAS office, it took 2 weeks before the documents reflected on my advisory report. As what NNAS told me, when documents are received, it would take 6-8 weeks for the office to evaluate your documents to see if it's authentic, and to check if it meets the promulgated requirement and standard. After which, another advisory report is going to be sent to inform you regarding the next steps . For now, I can only speculate the probabilities and trust what NNAS told me because at this stage, I'm still waiting.

Hi stephen! I am planning to do the NNAS but i am outside Canada, did you apply when you are in Canada or outside? I would appreciate your response. Thank you!

Many IENs apply while outside of Canada, it is better to do as many steps of the licensing process as you can before coming to Canada.
