when I was doing my BP last nov i just sent applications randomly. i got an interview for royal prince alfred hosp in sydney but they weren't able to proceed with the hiring because i still didnt have my registration that time. it is still possible to be hired while doing bp but then again IT IS VERY RARE unless you have an extensive experience which will make the employer willing to wait until you have your reg. having said that it would really be advisable to wait for you reg first before applying because nowadays they would ignore your application if you dont have license yet.

i got a job 3 mos after i received my license.

hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply. Just want to know how many years pf experience do you have?

hi! anyone here on 456 visa?. are we eligible to apply for a student visa? thanks

for those who had their physical exam done, can u tell me how is it done? im a male and i am just curious about it.

where did you have ur PA? is it in st lukes or in makati? which is faster in terms of releasing the results.

thanks for those who will reply. godbless and goodluck!

I did the same with my doctor placing all my vaccines and when i got them on a vaccination form plus the required serology and ppd test. HepB requires the serology. Ppd for TB. I had to re-do aDPT since the one i got was when i was a baby. I chose to get a booster for MMR instead of 3 separate serology tests for the 3 illnesses. Had these certified and were accepted documents at 2 schools - aaon and acn- which required these to complete an application at their schools. Both schools have a separate immunization record form to fill up.

hello xanxan

just want to ask if we are ought to do these serology tests only at st. luke's extension clinic or the other clinic in makati (the only 2 clinics recognized by the australlian embassy for medicals). or we can do it in other local diagnostics labs?

with certified, do you mean notarized?

thanks.

I had my medical exam yesterday at NHSI in Makati. Read somewhere in this forum that they release the results faster than St Lukes. But I dunno, NHSI say it takes 1-2 weeks. Regarding the physical exam, it's the usual. Medical history and Physical Assessment. You will be asked to take off your shirt/pants. The dr will also look for a tattoo and ask if you have hemorrhoids. I was assigned to a female dr since Im a girl. I saw a male dr im just not sure if he does the PE for all male patients.

HELLO!NEWBIE HERE.Please enlighten me PLS. my cousin is insisting that we will go to OZ en route the conversion program but telling her that there is a shortcut to be an RN in OZ which is the bridging program. She told me that conversion program is better according to her friend now in OZ because BP has a long process and we can work part time while doing the Conversion Program and there is a paid post grad training that is like the "training" here in the PH so there would be a greater chance of employment thats according to her. BTW, she has 4 training experience and 1 year as RNHEALS. as for me i have 6 months volunteer exp(HOSP), 3 months JO nurse(HOSP) and currently RNHEALS. TIA:)[/quote']

I thought the conversion program is already the bridging program

The grad program is for zero experience and possible for an overseas nurse 5yrs ago but time have changed a lot of things here, the priority now are the locals...

hello ladydee-rn

i'll be attending arntp this oct, if everything will go as planned. since you've already done arntp, i just want to ask some questions.

1. just want to ask if we are ought to do the serology tests only at st. luke's extension clinic or the other clinic in makati (the only 2 clinics recognized by the australlian embassy for medicals). or we can do it in other local diagnostic labs?

do we really have to do serology tests and be vaccinated again? what i read in unisa's website is that we only have to be vaccinated against hep b and tb.

2. is it correct to assume that unisa will take care of our registration with ahpra? and the documents that we need to bring with us are the same with what we submitted to the university plus the proof identity documents.

3. how did you prolong your stay in Au? I'm sure it will be hard to find a job in a month's time.

4. what type of accomodation did you have. i'm planning to have mine at gosse in'tl student residences or kent town. do you know other places that are cheaper but decent to stay in.

5. can i have your email ad. sometimes questions just pop up in my mind and i know that you're the right person to ask since you've already gone through this.

thank you ladydee-rn. looking forward to your reply.:)
