Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

World Registration

Published

my gf and I while waiting for our visa, running almost 7 weeks now after lodging.. decided that she should go on with the required vaccines for the ARNTP clinical placements. we recently got in touch with her pediatrician, and she still has her baby book..

we checked the list and almost all the required vaccines are there except for a few and uncompleted ones, what her pediatrician did was she had her prescription pad, wrote all the shots and the dates that it was given.

would that be enough proof for the vaccine requirements?

im sure someone has asked this question but ive been looking around and cant seem to find it..

thank you for the help!

cheers!

hi councilor28

i am also for arntp this oct. i just had my medical exam yesterday.

i've been looking for the complete list of required vaccines since its cheaper to have them here in the Phil, but i can't seem to find it.

can you post a link regarding the needed vaccines.

thanks

hey marga, one of your future batchmate forwarded this,

The Course Coordinator of the ARNTP has advised that you need evidence of the following immunisations in order to go on clinical placement:

PolioDiphtheria/TetorificeHepatitis BHepatitis AMeasles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR)VaricellaPertussisInfluenza – given influenza is a seasonal virus you need to have had this year’s immunisation

If serology tests aren’t available for this, just bring evidence you have had thisTuberculosisMantoux test must be done in Adelaide"

marga, if you just had your medical yesterday... I hope youl have enough time to get the visa.. one of your batch mates Is a whole month ahead of us.. but I think up to know they haven't got their visa yet, and her 8th week was last week of july.. she sent an email asking whats going on and what she got as a reply is that visas are actually delayed due to medical backlogs.. she said now it takes a minimum of 8 weeks for visas to come and you count starting on the date your medical results was uploaded.. not from the date your visa was lodged.. that's why were a bit worried.. im hoping that the embassy guys will consider that the intake is going to be on October.. and it will be so frustrating to even imagine ending up doing next year intake.. and do this whole process again..

hope for the best!

is the delay applicable to student visas only or for business visas too?

For those who were able to get a job, when did you guys start applying for work? Some say it's ok to apply when you're already on your placement, some say after finishing the program, and some say when they got their license...

It depends on you. You can apply even if you are doing the course but the end point is, you will receive a bunch of reject letters because employers prefer applicants with registration.

thank you councilor28 for the reply. i will have my immunizations ready. i just wanted to be sure about the required vaccines. although i've read in unisa's website that arntp students are required to be vaccinated against hep b and tuberculosis before commencing the program...

you can email me instead. here's mine [email protected]

i hope our visa will be granted soon. Ams, my agent, doesn't seem so worried, i guess we will make it this oct.
