Hai Everybody,

My self Komalatha Atluri, I am from India and I am new to this group. I need some suggestions regarding my nursing career. I am studying Masters in public Health in health education concentration in western kentucky university. I would like to know the process of getting RN license in kentucky. I would like to pursue doctoral degree in nursing in future. I am really unaware of the process of getting license here in USA. I heard of visa screening by CGFNS and what is the process of getting visa screening certificate. I have total score of 86 in TOEFL ibt with speaking score of only 24. Am I eligible to apply for Visa Screening? Those who have already gained license in kentucky or others who are aware of this process. Please help me out. I hope you people will respond for my query.

Thanks and Regards,

Komalatha Atluri

Moved to the Nurse Registration forum, a forum dedicated to help Nurses apply for a nurse license in a country other than the one they trained in.

On the state BON website you will find instructions on requirements as a International trained nurse. Most require CES course by course report by CGFNS for some other acceptable agency. Visa screen certificate is generally required when applying for a work/immigrant visa.

Hai,

Thanks for your reply. So, you say that Visa screening is not required for board of kentucky, if I am planning to study doctoral degree. I did not get any clear information on kentucky board of nursing website. Can you please enlighten me on this issue.

Thanks and Regards,

According to their website you do need VSC or at least meet everything else and need NCLEX pass to complete requirements. This appears to be the same even if endorsing so it would appear they are a site that accepts nothing else but VSC.
