Hi everyone,I have questions,I finished my practical nursing back in the Philippines for 2 years, I am living here in Chicago as immigrant pitetioned by my husband, when I cam here I applied to cgnfs to take the nlcex pn but sad to say they do not recognize my pn from phil. :( . Now my question is that is there any of you here that has the same situation with me and able to take the nclex pn and where? How to process? Please guide me. I am so disappointed right now,cuz I went to school again here where I lived owned by a filipino,she td me that I need to take 4 course,OB peds medsurge 1 and 2 and have my papers evaluated,now the agency doesn't evaluate my papers,according to them they cannot evaluate it because it's a non credit vocational, ugh I don't know what to do anymore. I spent a lot of money already,I hope someone here can help me.

As LPN is not a recognized credential in the Philippines you are ineligible to be licensed as such. The program/education is not recognized by any nursing licensing body in the Philippines. How can you get licensed overseas if the country you were educated in can't license you for practice?

There was one school Kennedy Global(a few different names also) that is specifically listed as unacceptable by most states. Nearly every state requires the school to be accredited to offer the educational program in the country of education.

If you wish to work as an LPN in the US you likely need to attend a US practical nursing school, graduate and apply for a nursing license by examination from the board of nursing.

Most US practical nursing programs are vocational diplomas lasting 10-18 months (longer programs are often part time). Canadian PN programs are two year college

Quite a few states will not consider applicants who are not licensed/eligible for LPN licensing in their country of education.

It is always recommended to secure nursing education in the country where you plan to live and work.

Hi. What if you are a BSN graduate at the same time RN in the Philippines? Do you think BVNPT CA will approve your eligibility?

If you meet the minimum educational requirements put forth by BVNPT via the alternate education method then your application for licensing by examination will be approved. There are dozens of threads in the international nurse registration forum. If you submit your BSN credentials not (the practical nursing credentials that are not recognized in the Philippines and the major school offering this curriculum in Philippines will not be deemed acceptable in CA and other states) in theory your BSN credentials should be sufficient but there is never a guarantee
