Finnish Student !

World Registration

Published

I'm a Nursing Student, currently Studying in Finland. I will be moving to the US in a couple years with My BSN. But the thing is I don't have my High School Diploma because I'm immigrant here. The plus point is, My boyfriend is an American.

Question Are, do I need my High school Diploma in the US? Or Just My BSN? What else do I need to be In the US? Will BSN enough to get a job there?

Is it good to move US before my BSN or done with my BSN? (so that I can study in the US)

If there anybody with Finnish nursing education on this board, could I please get in contact with you! I am interested in what troubles have you had with evaluating your finished diploma in the States.

Thanks!

You will have precisely same two options like everyone else coming in the US with foreign nursing diploma:

- go through CGFNS, get your diploma and credentials evaluated, pass NCLEX, get license, get job.

or,

- get admitted to a US nursing school, re-do your education, pass NCLEX, get license, get job.

Neither of this two ways absolutely requires high school diploma. Both take time, nerves and money. How much of each, highly depends on your school, state where you are going to practice and other details.

Research your visa options early because you will need status allowing you to stay, study and work legally. Good luck!
