CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students

World Registration

Published

I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?

I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:

  1. SS number
  2. Local license in the Philippines
  3. Copy of ur clinical rotation schedule for your cases: Assisted/Actual deliveries, cord dressing, and major/minor surgeries
  4. A complete school curriculum hundred pages or more sent directly from ur nursing school to the board. (the board doesn't accept the condensed version of the curriculum
  5. A one-page curriculum outline and academic calendar.

Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.

I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this :uhoh3:

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.
What will happen now to those who want to take nclex exam but got denied?

NCLEX is just a part of the license application process. If denied in CA or one of the other states unless a license is issued you can not work as a nurse in that state. You have to either meet their requirements and complete any courses they say is necessary, see if LPN/VN is an option or look to move to a state that doesn't have these requirements

Hello everyone! I am pretty frustrated.. since i graduated from the phils and didnt take the local board there and thought that applying here in Ca would be such a fuss. And its getting me disappointed reading comments from here. :( My whole life dpends in this career. Im living a very average life. I do put this all on God doing all what i could do too. I have had my school send the reqts.BON

Did anyone, a grad from 2012 phils, get an eligibility to take the test? I hope and.pray for those applying that we would. Im one of them.. T_T i am praying to God that I be granted so. I will do all that I can and leave all others to God. Godbless us all!

YIKES!

But do you have any other batchmates who may have applied prior to you, in the same class and have gotten notification of their application, good or bad? It may indicate the future status of your application now.

You can get a good feeling for your application if you truly believe that you took ALL your clinicals and theory courses together in the same exact semester, not months or year or two later. If you can say without a doubt your transcripts will show a complete concurrent timeline, you're probably safe from getting the rejection letter.

I was denied by CABON due to OB not being concurrent.

has anyone of remember this question in applying for licensure in another state:

Has any licensing authority refused to issue you a license or ever revoked, annulled, cancelled, accepted surrender of, suspended, placed on probation, refused to renew a nursing license, certificate or multi-state privilege held by you now or previously, or ever fined, censured, reprimanded or otherwise disciplined you?

Yes

No

If you click yes, automatically you will not be allowed to have your endorsement. but if you say no. its lying. pls help!

The way I read this is that do you have a "license" to endorse over? If you don't possess a license now, then the answer is "No". They key criteria to this question, do you have a license now or ever?

If you're a license holder AND you fall into any one of the mentioned items, then, it's a "Yes".

I have a license in nevada and vermont as rn but i want to endorsed it to texas. we are planning to relocate there

the question is "refused to issue a license" and that is true. regarding the california BON because of the new concurrency issue. they advised me to go back to school.

I had a long talked with the Texas Endorsement office, and clarify it to them regarding the issue. and she said the answer is NO. because its only concerns eligibility. It doesn't concern malpractice or incompetency in my part. and the California will right away post in nursys sytem any individual who falls under that category.

So, anyone of you got confuse on that question regarding refuse a license by other state, whether you have license from other state (like mine) or want to apply for eligibility to take exam in texas, the answer is NO. Go ahead and apply!! :-)

God bLess!!!

Ahh, okay, but the caveat is that you can endorse-transfer your out of state license BUT not to any of the other 13 states that's enforcing the concurrency regulation, such as CA, as of this present time.

One reason I was trying to let others know to simply get your ATT done in the State they want to work-practice-raise a family in from the moment they pass the NCLEX and to avoid hopping from one state to another as it's only going to cost more in fee$ and time, as it's Faster, Easier and Cheapest to apply into the first desired state to begin with.

As you're going to have to meet that first desired State's BON requirements in the first place that you wanted to settle into. Jumping from state to another is time wasted that should be looking for a job.

Of course, if a written job offer comes thru and it's in another unaffected concurrency State, then, go for it!

What other 13 states enforces that concurrency regulation?

What other job can we apply? A graduate of BSN, no license yet.
