BSN graduate want to take NCleX-PN

World Registration

Published

I'm a recent graduate with a Bsn from the Philippines and I want to know if it's possible to challenge the California LVN board because of the concurrency issues when applying for the NCLEXRN. I want to know if anyone has had success on it and how exactly do it go about doing this. I am in a crisis right now and I don't know what to do. Should I just venture into something else because the CA BoN is making it really difficult. How do I challenge to take the CA exam to get an LVN license, if at all it's possible.. Thanks.

it is possible. :) I'm a BSN in the Philippines, applied for the NCLEX RN here in California, got a letter saying i need to take MS and OB both theory and clinical before i can get my eligibility to sit on NCLEX RN exam. I tried applying for NCLEX PN, luckily i got approved and just reviewing for now until i'm ready to take take the exam :) so if you have any questions just email me at [email protected] :) Godbless ^_^

It's been almost a year now since I got denied to take the RN exam and almost a year since I got my LVN license. Now I registered again for another trial of becoming an RN which is the NCLEX-RN in another state.God bless future RNs and PN's.

Thank you for the posts, at least now there's a little hope. Much appreciated.

Is there any way someone can show me the steps to go about how to do this... If it's not too troublesome..

Hi mister.nurse!!

did you submit new documents from the school and pay again for the LVN application? Or they considered changing the RN application to LVN? It's such a waste of money, time and paper if you started all over again.

Technically CA BRN & BVNPT requires that you are licensed in the country of education unless ineligible. (US citizens are not eligible to take the NLE in the Philippines and therefore request an exemption.). Contact your analyst at the BVNPT to determine your course of action as you attempted the NLE but did not pass so clearly you are eligible for licensing once you fulfill all criteria. BVNPT may enforce any rules at any time without notice (concurrency, local license, or any other regulation that is already in place)

HI dragon_lady

just wanna ask, my wife is having difficulty figuring out on what to do in applying CA LVN or CA RN.here is the situation:

she graduated in Philippine Nursing School and passed the local nursing board. Now she is thinking of taking first the LVN exam since she is not really confident in practicing as RN in Cali due to more or less 10 yrs without nursing experience. my questions are, Is it advisible to take LVN rather than NCLEX? or what are the consequences if she take the chance of NCLEX?she is having difficulty figuring out the needed requirements for NCLEX exam.

THANK YOU in advance!
