by cHaRiSsE_ Jul 31, '12I'm a registered Nurse in the Philippines and I want to work as an AIN in AU. I was wondering if anyone here has an idea on how it works.
I have tried searching but I keep ending up on a dead end.
Any idea on:
1. Registration
2. School
3. Employment
I would really appreciate any inputs.
Thanks!

There is no registration board for AIN's, usually some have done a cert 2 or 3 or 4 course at a TAFE.
If a recruitment/consulting firm are telling you that you can come and work in Australia as a nursing assistant, they are wrong and it is seen as trying a shortcut into the country.
Nursing assistants are not on the skilled shortage list, so an employer cannot therefore sponsor an non pr non citizen, a visa to stay in the country to work, as there are locals that can do the job.
As you are an RN in your own country, why are you not being assessed by AHPRA and becoming a Filipino nurse with Australian nursing registration? -
