Applying for license in USA state SC

World Registration

Published

Hi.

i need advice on which order to do things...

Apply for license?

Get report from CGFNS?

Register for NCLEX?

Work Visa?

I have an agency willing to offer me permanent work in South carolina, and have said once I'm ready for the work visa to get in contact and they will sort that out.

So what do I need to do first???

I qualified in the UK, British university. My first language is English.

Thanks

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Starting point would be CGFNS and start CES process. Whilst that is ongoing start state application. Just be aware a lot of UK nurses don't meet state requirements due to the nature on how the UK train nurses. Suggest making sure your transcripts show both clinical and theory hours in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetrics and Adult. Also what work visa is the agency going to apply for?

Can I ask what CES is?

An employment visa is what they would apply for. I1-140 I think it is

Ces is a report showing breakdown of your transcripts to ensure your training meets state requirements. I140 is approval for immigrant visa aka green card. H1b is work visa and general nurses don't go for it due to high demand from other professions and is usually gone early April.
