Good day!

I recently got the scores needed for my English language Proficiency and was really having some trouble with AHPRA website as I got confuse with so many information all bulk together. To be specific I am not sure about their "recency of practice of 450 hours within the last 5 years" and also stated that "whether remunerated or not is considered as a nurse experience" I am from the Philippines and I got most of the documents needed to be assess by AHPRA aside from this recency of practice.

To be more appropriate my last hospital experience was 2010-2011 and after that I work in different field to be able to sustain the daily cost of living expenses and help my family.

So what does it exactly mean? Can I submit my documents now? or Do I need to go back and have a recent experience as Nurse to be able to proceed with AHPRA?

Please help! Thank you in advance. :)

It sounds like you must have worked at least 450hrs in the past 5 years officially as a nurse. "Whether remunerated or not" implies paid or volunteer. Since you have not worked as a nurse in any capacity since 2011 you would not be eligible for consideration to be a licensed nurse by APHRA. It wouldn't matter in what setting but it would have to be as a registered nurse.

You need to work as a registered nurse before APHRA would consider your application based upon what you posted above

Hi thank you so much for your reply. Yes my last work as a registered nurse was 2010-2011. If I count from 2011 does it count within the 5 years time frame? Or is it too risky? Thank you very much for paying attention on my post.

I suspect better to get current nursing experience than rely on hoping to meet requirement because you worked sometime in 2011

Hi silverdragon,

Thank you for your reply, I am considering that as well since I do not want to risk my application because of that. Right now I am rendering from my current work as Registered Nurse for pharmacovigilance. I really wanted to comeback to my profession and get my recent experience as a nurse so that I will be able to lodge my application the soonest time possible.

Again thank you for your advice, Now I've decided not to risk it Thanks! ;)
