Haven't taken this exam, just wanted to wish you luck.

I just took the AANP FNP exam and passed. I really don't think there is a way to study for this because the questions are high level and scenario. I didn't think it was that hard. Good luck!

Good luck on your exam! :) I am just wondering: how many weeks did it take from the time you mailed in your application to take the exam until they got back to you saying you can now schedule your test date? I mailed my ACNP test application 2 weeks ago and I am getting a little antsy. :) Thanks.

Good Luck to you. I was wondering... I ordered the Fitzgerald book from Amazon. Where can I get the CD's?

Definitely, practice the review questions. I distinctly remember some of those same questions that are in the Fitzgerald review book appearing on the test!

I'm curious as to why you chose to take the ANCC over the AANP exam. I took the ANCC exams for ANP & GNP, but I took the AANP exam for the FNP. The AANP has over a 92% pass rate on the FNP exam. I definitely felt it was easier than the ANCC exams I took for the ANP/GNP. Do you know what the pass rate is for the ANCC FNP exam?

I am awaiting my test date to be scheduled---silly admin stuff delaying my authorization to test to be distributed!!! I took the Fitzgerald review and I have anticipated having these two weeks of nothing but study time-- and yet I am frozen! I know my weak areas, and am trying to review the questions in both the review course book and my Fitzgerald FNP review book -- but I am not a good study-er. My mind is so un-attentive!!!!

Anyone else in the same boat? :)

Yep, I'm in the same boat as you! Hey-did you take the Fitzgerald Review in Burlington, MA in May? I took that one-only for ACNP. I'm waiting to hear back when I can schedule my exam too and I know I have to finish studying, but feel so distracted! :( Plus, people at my RN job keep asking me to work extra days and it's hard to say no, but now I've started to tell them I really need to study, so I don't sign up for every possible work shift now. :)

i chose ancc simply b/c they had more dates to test than aanp although i belong to aanp--after taking the fitzgerald class i wish i had applied for aanp but oh well...my friends just took ancc yesterday and 1 passed and 1 failed and they said it was the most ridiculous questions that you could not have studied for!

Hello-- Nope-- I was in NYC the week or so after that class. I wish I would've been in MA though, sounds like ya'll got some special treatment aka SNACKS! ;)

I am totally blocked on how to prepare--- I am frazzled a bit, but have been trying to go over stuff at LEAST 1-2 hrs a day. I really want to get it over with too---

Wait--wait--- crazy questions you couldnt even study for?!? What's that all about?

Ok, my friend at work has been trying to get me to stay calm and think positively about my upcoming NP exam, so I am taking her advice. :) I keep telling myself that I will pass this exam because not only did I do well in NP school, but I also took a review course, and have been studying very diligently for several weeks now and understand what I am reading. I say this because we are all going to hear stories of how someone failed the NP exam and how hard it is, etc, etc...and we can't freak out. We have to realize that everyone is different and we can only focus on ourselves and feel confident in our abilites and think positively. I am saying this to try to convince myself too of course! :) So good luck to everyone about to take the NP exams, and I hope I find out my test date soon....

I just finished a week in my car and so got a couple of run-throughs on the Fitzgerald CDs--I have never taken the cert exam but I have done many in nursing schools and I could have given myself a bruise kicking myself over mis-reading wording on questions, which sounds like it is something to watch for. I just wish I could get it scheduled and DONE with. I have called the ANCC twice now, they did get my application and my check went through on 6/4 but still no written notification. Still, the woman I talked to said I will get my authorization in the next 6 weeks (6-8 weeks from the check clearing date). So I am hopeful to get it done this summer. I am anticipating some initial brain freeze but as you point out, I did well in school and have been studying regularly.

I STILL can't figure out why it takes so long to get an authorization to test though...
