Specializes in Pediatrics, Med-Surg.

I'm in a FNP program and it's totally online. I have submitted my H&P's without much difficulty but I have a video exam that is due this friday, I have watched the practice video approximately 3-4 times and understand the concepts of what is being done but am deadly afraid of the video exam. In my undergrad H&P course I failed the video exam twice because of my nervousness. I did well then in the H&P's. I currently work in a pediatric ER and have gone in with the PA and one of the attendings and done the entire exam and they and given a plan of care and they have agreed with me on the course of action. Not quite sure how to get over my fear. If I don't pass this video exam, I will not be able to begin my clinicals next semester. :-(

I'm not familiar with video exams - what is involved?

I am curious? Are you at USA in Mobile? That is where I am-we do video exams as well. Mine is summer semester.

Fix the video (cover red light, etc) where you don't know whether it's on or not. Then do multiple exams till your "director" yells "cut, it's a wrap!"

That's a GREAT suggestion! I like it!

Hello!

Yes, I am at USA-in Mobile. As far as the video's--I do mine this summer. The program is good. I would prefer a sit in class program, but I work full-time Mon-Friday and have 3 children. This works for me. I started taking one class at a time. This semester, I am full time. You truly have to allow 8-10 hours a week minimum--really about 12-13--for classes like patho and adv. pharmacology. My last pharm test covered 27 chapters. Daily studying is essential. If you can make yourself stay on schedule, it's a good program. Again, I would prefer the sit in class type-as that is what I had in my undergrad program at USA. Good luck...if you have any particular questions..feel free to email me.
