GTCC Fall 2012 ADN Program Points and TEAS V Scores

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

I have just completed my TEAS V and MAR for the GTCC 2012 Fall ADN Program and wanted to know what others have scored and their points. I am trying to get a feel for how competitive it is to get accepted. Also, if you have been accepted into the Fall 2011 Program, what were your points and TEAS V scores? It is going to be very nerve wracking waiting for letters to be mailed, so I thought we could be supportive of each other and get a feel for where we stand. Thanks to all who respond!

Points: 45

TEAS V: 79.3%

my hopes have all ready faded lol

I agree March needs to hurry itself up! I wish they would just send them out sooner!!!

What do you guys think the point range is going to be for this years GTCC fall ADN program? I am keeping my fingers crossed!

I have no idea, I think at this point we are all just guessing! Lol. I heard something about the average being in the 40's. Have you heard anything different?

I have no idea amgladwell12. But I think 40s and above would be ideal to be considered at GTCC. I have 50 pts at GTCC and the advisor told me I had a competitive score, because a lot of people were not passing the TEAS. But this waiting for March to arrive is driving me crazy. I want to find out now but we must all wait patiently and calmly :)

Congratulations on such high scores Forsyth11!! You are probably a shoe in! :) I mean that in the most non jinxing way ever (hence the probably) Can't wait for the letters! Did the advisor mention how many had passed or not? Im hearing from another thread that the teas score may be lower now since not enough people passed it to fill the seats?

What's different about this years TEAS that's making it so hard to pass. I thought the same version was required last year? Did they change the score needed to get in?

Is anyone else having a tough time with A&P 166? I have a 4.0 and had no problem in 165, but this class is seriously kicking my butt. My instructor is awful and I am just not clicking with his teaching style.

I don't know how many passed but the advisor did tell me not a lot of people are passing it. I think they were mainly concerned about people passing the TEAS. So if you passed it, I think you are good to go depending on how many applicants they have.

WaitingPatiently2012, I completed A&P 166 last semester with a B. The first two lecture exams killed my overall grade because I only managed a C on them. I aced A&P 165, so I felt much the same way you do now. Who is your instructor (pls, only use initials because we cannot post names of administration in our posts)? I had Dr. MM. My third lecture exam I literally studied 9 hours for and got a 90%. I realized I just had to put a lot more time and effort into 166 to get through it with a B or better...which, as I already stated, I ended with a B. I had a 4.0 GPA until 166. :( Now, I have a 3.8.

http://www.gtcc.edu/media/72806/nursing%202012.pdf Has a table on how to compute your points, if you scroll down to page 4, there's a list of extra points you can receive for certain classes, certifications, higher scores on your TEAS, etc.

It's how people are getting 80+'s

balatro, I calculated everything and got 85. Now this is with ALL A's in every pre req course and every single possible ACA certificate, EMT and etc.... I think the person who got an 87 or something on this thread was speaking in Forsyth points.... Highly unlikely that she has received ALL A's with EVERY point imaginable. Esp if the top points are 85.... Or maybe theres other avenues for point gaining that I am not aware of.

i am also waiting to hear from my community college in nc as well. your teas scores had to be above 58.7 and i scored higher than that. i applied for the pn program at my school. they also go by the course work you have already completed. if anyone can tell me what to expect from a pn program that would be great

thanks..
