going to Mercy School of Nursing?

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi there,

I am starting mercy School of nursing next week (yipes!) and am very excited and very nervous - - anyone out there starting May 2008 or anyone in the program now? Would love to hear from you!! :typing

I think your 3.2 should be fine. My college gpa was lower than that:eek:. Plus it's in engineering which is no easy major I assume. I don't think they really look at the gpa number so much as that you completed a degree. They will look at your pre-req classes' grades so I would be sure to score a B or higher in those. Plenty of people (myself included) even took micro with our first semester. But since you would be starting in the summer than they wouldn't let you do that and you would take it in the fall. Just keep updating your classes by sending Mercy your transcripts so that they know what you are doing. Also, I know you are eager to start but don't be discouraged if you do not get in for summer of 2009. I was waitlisted for the semester I chose and then accepted for the following semester. Also I am not sure if you are working or have other things going on in your life but the summer semester for your first semester can be really challenging. They squeeze 16 weeks material into 11 weeks. It's not so bad once you get going in the program but for a first semester students (myself included) find it verrry hard and time consuming. Good luck!!!!
