Hey everyone!

I'm thinking about sitting for the CCRN this summer.

A few questions:

Has anyone taken it?

How is it?

I have all the information for it. Is the AACN test plan pretty accurate?

Thank you,

I took the CCRN many years ago and it was THE hardest test I have ever seen.

Make sure to take plenty of time to study, get plenty of different sources to study--not just the Core Corriculum (it will put you to sleep).

The AACN requires 100 ceu's every 3 years--can be hard to keep up with, there is another one-the RNC-same thing just different company and I believe less ceu's needed. If I had to do it again would probably do the rnc to not have to worry about 100 every 3 years.

Good luck!

While the Intensive Care Neonatal RNC exam was hard, you only need 45 ceus q3 yrs, and something like 75% have to be neonatal related. See if your employer will pay for one or the other...

I took CCRN a few months ago and I'm preparing for RNC now. There's a Core Curriculum Certification Review book with a ton of practice questions and rationales. It's jointly created by AACN and NCC. If you study it, you should be fine for CCRN.

I am going to try it also...on March 31 - although I've been in this game for a long while; I am totally prepared Not to pass this CCRN test - I just don't do well with tests. For me I avoid taking a critical care course for my BSN should I pass. But they changed it and I'd need to take something called World Health which interest me...so when I don't pass the CCRN, take this course, I'll probally try the RNC as I like the intials better! I know stupid reason...but you guys are correct you need less CEU's to maintain the RNC!
