Anyone have any infoon how their new nurse orientation is? Or any info at all about the hospital? Thanks

Thanks for the info 987!. I was wondering if anyone who is more local to WMC than me knows of any affordable monthly housing around there. Im relocating just for the orientation/preceptorship portion of the job...

Thanks!

If I may ask, how did you guys managed to get interviews there, I am interested in that hospital as well, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

From what I'm hearing nursing recruiters contacted people that applied for jobs at WMC within the past few months. I'm not sure how HR narrowed their list down to about 50 people for the open interviews. The open interview day was not open to the public.

Ok, thank you for replying, even though I had them on mind, I never applied though, too bad. I go to their website now and I don't see any RN positions yet. Guess am so unlucky, don't know when am gonna get a hospital position, it's just so hard, applications after applications but no call backs, am tired of applying now,

RNRAC,

I was hoping to find out the same thing about housing. I was hoping to find something cheap in the area, even if its just a room with a bed just to have a place to crash up there in case of bad weather, extra shifts, or anything like that. Haven't been lucky finding anything online that is cheap but I am guessing there will be postings somewhere in the hospital of people looking for a roommate. I only live 40 minutes and am kinda OK with the commute for the most part, but during this orientation I know its gunna get alittle tough for me.

Maatus,

Yea, I had applied back a while ago and got the email inviting me to the open interviews and went. I would still submit my resume if I were you, you have nothing to lose, you never know in a few months they may have more open interviews.

I went to the last interview day they had on dec 19 (wishing I had went to an earlier one because it seems so many positions have been filled already by all your posts) the HR woman made it seem like they still have a lot to fill but even if I didn't get one now they will have more opening up in January and I would still be a candidate. Did anyone else go to that interview day? Have you heard back yet or have any insight on anything? Everyone else seems to have heard back a week after their interview but because of the holidays now I'm guessing we won't hear anything till after the new year? It feels like forever when your waiting to hear back about a job. Especially being a new grad and getting turned down so many times because the "chose someone else with more experience"

I can imagine a crap load of people (50-100+) interviewed. There was around 30 ppl when I went and there was still around 6 more meetings so.

where did you guys submit the application?

Careers at Westchester Medical Center?

Yes, I applied at the career section.

I was told it was approximately 50 people who were called for interviews.

I will also be on 4N, but days. I was told also by the nurse manager on that unit that even though it is a part time position, there will be plenty of extra shifts to pick up until full time positions are available in case I was concerned about not making enough money part time.

Did anyone go to the last Interview day on dec 19? If so, have you heard anything back or do you know when we're supposed to hear something?
