VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

The financial aid office person at Veeb told me the gighest loan amount is $7,500. Is this true. I need a loan quick. Any ideas?

Not sure of the dollar amount but he did tell me even if i recieved Full Financial Aid ,I'd still need a loan. I think that is because the PELL Grant is all that is offered. For whatever reason there is no TAP with them.

I talked to him today and he said they'd handle all the final Financial Aid processing on orientation day.

True....

It'll be worth it in the end. Ladies?? What are your plan's after Veeb?? Are you guys planning on working for a while or will you further your education.

Both

I would love to work pt and hopefully continue at Helene Fuld.

You????

OMG I just Realize that was LOAN amount! I thought it said Financial Aid.

UGH..That's another $1,500 out of pocket! Not including Books & supplies!

Yup...same here...He said, all will be discuss during orientation. He did tell to bring income tax papers(all required docs) w/ me.

No tap, because it's a part-time school, and Veeb is privately own, so is

Boces. Pell is Federal and applies to all schools credited by the Board of Ed.

After lpn...I'm thinking jumping into the online program for BSN at Jacksonville,Fl...

Their online course seems promising and it's a campus base University as well. I'm trying to avoid anymore loan. Veeb will be the last time for me to pull out loans. I owe LIU so much money for a degree, I"m barely working on. Hopefully, whatever facility I choose will cover educational expenses. I just have to make sure what's the catch. Little details they sometimes fail to inform you.

I'm keeping my hands cross, but until then, I'm concentrating on Nclex-pn. One step at a time!

NOPE!

We wll be billed $400 for Supplies.. Includes Uniform, Name pin, Tote bag, watch, stethscope, accident insurance, & graduation supplies!

It's in the paperwork you got with the info for the entrance exam.

Oops I forgot the $185. for the Physical... We'll be billed!

Shouldn't this be all included in our tuition. The paper I got was requesting $10 for picture ID. Nothing about being billed for Physical exam; I assume it's being deducted from the $10,000.

So are you implying:

$10,000 total tuition (resident 9500)

$1000 down payment=

___________

9000 tuition

$400 Uniforms /supplies etc.

$10 ID

$500 books

$185 for physical

separately ....Is this a joke??

NOPE!

I'll double check... OOOOh I know which paper your refering too. The paper given during the application process. The very first paper given to us. Dang!

Oki dok...I'll go read again. Thanks for the headsup.

That pretty much sums it up.

I called last week to verify the fee for the physical because it wasn't mentioned on the appointment letter but i remembered seeing it on previous paperwork. I was told... YES it's $185 but we didn't need to bring it on the day of..we'd be billed after classes begin.

The fee for the supplies is mentioned on the blue paper you got in the very first info packet you picked up at the school prior to the entrance exam.

I need a loan because VEEB seems to pop up with charging you for everything. I will have to worry about getting good grades and don't want to have to worry about money as well. I got a letter from CHASE about college loans 877-223-8025. They told me VEEB is not in their "School approved list." I called the financial aid guy to tell him that Chase loan department will be contacting the school to get the school added. He stated that would be fine. You may borrow up to $40,000. I have a bachelors and will not qualify for financial aid. I will have to leave my job and struggle being a wife and mother to a six-year old. I've never taken out a loan before and feel that this will be my best choice.
