VEEB LPN Program (info request)

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Wrapping up my 1st semester in Nassau's program and I articulated right away from VEEB.

In order to do that though you need intro english & psych, A&P I & II, statistics before you apply to the program with C or higher and credits

Don't worry about the 90 average, with a LPN license you still qualify for the traditional advanced standing route, regardless of work experience. With articulation all you need is a 90 or higher on a basic dosage test and you're basically guaranteed a spot the January after you graduate. With the other route, you need to pass a bunch of clinical skills tests and an on-line course.

So take some classes if you can this summer before starting VEEB, it'll pay off.

In my experience VEEB has prepared me to the point where RN school is just a review with some extra details. The hardest part is probably the care plans.

Also about the tuition, NCC is considered a SUNY school, so all you need is a affidavit stating you live in a NYS county for Nassau resident pricing.

Although I have no experience with Excelsior personally, the lack of clinical time scared me away. It's tough to beat actual hands on experience.

It's good to know that I don't have to be a resident of Nassau county, but of any NYS county in order to qualify for the lower tuition rate.

I was kinda skeptical about Excelsior too, but I figure its always good to have a plan B (or C lol). Nassau takes Excelsior credits...so that's another reason for me going that route.

Hello people,i got a letter from Veeb today saying dat my reference letter from my employer did not reflect my character.Veeb said i shud bring in another character reference from my employer,my employer told me that they dont give character reference.pls advice me bcos i really dont know wat to do

what happen did u give in your reference! Did they give u more time ?? Did u hand the new ones in??

Thanks Grindin so much for the info. Does NCC have an evening program for their nursing program, or is it only offered during the day? I'm really now thinking about attending there if the classes are held in the evening. I already took psychology and english, so I would only have to take A&P I and statistics. Do you suggest where I should take these classes and when should I take them? Does Nassau take any online classes for A&P and statistics? Thanks!

To answer the remaining questions, yes there is an evening program. It's 5-10 PM I believe with 5 hours class, 10 hours clinical a week.

As for the classes, NCC pretty much takes credits from anywhere, contact the admissions office for verification.

Dont feel bad, GLady17...I havent as well...after stalking the mailman today, I finally called VEEB and the secretary said that they HAVENT mailed any acceptance letters out yet...

maybe veeb is waiting to see how many people sign up the the bridge program before they mail out acceptances :confused:
