I go to Broome because I have heard that Delhi....trys to "wash people out"...alot of other nurses have told me that it is a good school academically...but emotionally tough...

Maybe you will have a good story to tell..perhaps it was certain staff members..

I went to a LPN school that was like that...but my RN program at BCC is good...another girl in my class left Delhi and came to BCC for that reason. Our coordinator is very nice...Claire Leikigis...very supportive person! If it wasn't for her encouragement...I may never have actually started on my RN.

I went to Delhi program and graduated in 1991.

So, where to start. Feel free to PM me anytime. It is a tough program emotionally. It shouldn't be but it is. You need to take good care of yourself and don't take things personally. I worked hard and struggled as an adult student who had been an LPN for a long time.It became clear to me that some of the Prof did not want to know about past experiences, so I kept quiet.

Do you have an advisor? Are you living on campus? Keeping up with the reading? Getting outside in the sunshine? If there is anyway I can be supportive please let me know.

I graduated SUNY Delhi LPN program in 2003 and RN in 2004. It is tough, academically but I never felt the instructors were trying to weed people out. We started with 91 in my LPN class and graduated 64 LPNs, 61 passed the boards on the first try. Of the original 61 LPNs that I graduated with 51 went on to the RN program. 39 graduated RN and 37 passed the boards on the first try. It is hard but those are pretty good NCLEX results. I grew close to a few instructors that I'm still in touch with.
