Stony Brook or Binghamton absn - summer 2010

U.S.A. New York

Hi,

That's my first post here! I just got accepted to both Stony Brook and Binghamton accelerated nursing programs for summer 2010 :D. I am very excited and I am trying to decide which one to go. I have to take English composition II for Binghamton, so I should decide soon so that I can take the course if I need to. I couldn't find any specific information or ranking about the programs so I was wondering if someone could share some information! I live in Manhattan and Stony Brook will be more convinient for me, but I am willing to go to Binghamton if it is worth it! Any advise would be appreciated...

Both programs are really great programs from what I have heard. You could go to the NYS Nursing board site an see the NCLEX pass rates for the schools.

Personally I would just go to the program at Stonybrook, it would cost you less since you would not have to move and you would not to take an extra English course.

If you plan on working down here after graduation perhaps going to Stonybrook and doing clinicals in the city area ( or LI area) will give you a footing in the job market.

Oh another quick question. I am interested in applying to Stonybrook for next year after graduation.

If you do not mind sharing, could you tell me you GPA and the grades you received in the prereqs.

Stonybrook is not my number on choice but if I were to get in I would go because it would be so cheap.

When did you hear back from binghamton? I was accepted into Stony Brook over a month ago (phew) but still nothing from Bing... annoyingggg

I was put on the alternate list for Stony Brook's 2 yr program. Does anyone know how the list works?

Thanks!
