Stony Brook Accelerated BSN Class of 2014

U.S.A. New York

I'm surprised a thread for the upcoming class of 2014 has not been created yet (or has it). Well here it is!!! Good luck to all :p

However you organized in undergrad to get you this far will work just fine! All your classes will have powerpoints so you'll print those before class. Everyone usually takes notes on those or on their PC so I wouldn't recommend notebooks for each class. I just had a binder and put all my powerpoints in there. But everyone organizes different. Just do what works for you.

Congratulations! Huge accomplishment.

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if there is any sort of internship/externship associated with the accelerated program. I haven't seen anything about it.

Thanks

Hey Thomas. As part of the program we have a one month externship (called capstone) from the end of April to the end if may. Classes are done on April so for that month all you are doing is the externship. 12 days in 4 weeks (so pretty much a normal nursing schedule)

What are you all doing in the meantime between your capstone ending and graduation/boards? Anyone lining up new grad residency spots? Working as techs? Napping?

Thank you!

Paco-RN can you tell me about the program? can you list any pros and cons and also did you NEED a car?

Did you do ethics before you got in the program?

can anyone share their experience so far?
