Starting at Albany medical center in april, moving from home

U.S.A. New York

Hi all, I just got a job at Albany med. I live on Long Island now and I'm moving up to albany in a couple weeks.

I'm 22 yrs old and I've never lived on my own before and I've never worked in a hospital before so as my days at home are coming to an end, I'm getting really anxious and teary eyed. Everything I know is here and I really don't know anyone in albany.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pumped for my new job in the ICU.

I guess I'm just kind of ranting and want some encouraging words.

Also, is anyone else starting at Albany med in April?

Do you know what the shift diff is like?

My starting pay rate at St. Peter's is $23.07. My boyfriend got hired this past July with a starting pay of $23.14. He's now making $24.14. Night shift diff on weekdays is $4 and weekend night is $7.

Brittyma,

I just accepted a position in the ED at Albany Med and will be making the move from southern Connecticut. I'd love to hear about your experience thus far with the whole move/apartment search/etc. Send me a message!

Hi Aeaylesw! I know you posted a while ago but I was wondering how you like St. Peter's? I am a new grad and have an interview with them on Monday for a new grad med-surg position. Do you have any idea what the starting pay rate for a new grad is? Any insight would be appreciated! =)

I have a second interview with st. peter's tomorrow, any advice on what to expect when meeting with the operations manager? Thanks!
