Nursing homes in NYC

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello everyone :)

I am currently in my last semester of nursing school (2 year program, planning to pursue my BSN after graduating). I think when I graduate, I might have a job guaranteed for me at the hospital I currently work at (I am a CNA right now) and I have a family member who can help me. I plan to get a license here in New Jersey, but I also want to work per diem in NYC, preferrably in a nursing home. Anyone know of any good nursing homes in NYC? And how is the job market there for new grads? How about hospitals?

And btw since I plan to get a NJ license, how does the process of reciprocity go? My cousin has a NJ license and he current is applying to work in NY as well. He was telling me that you need to show that you're applying to an NY hospital/LTC and then they will give you a temporary license till they officially give you the real license.

This has been discussed before, try the link below. Good Luck.

Why not a nursing home in NJ where you already have your license? I mean it's your choice, but I personally would get a per diem gig and nursing home job in the state that I'm licensed so as to avoid the endorsement fee AND the NY taxes.

Best of luck

Try TCC. Never worked there, but did clinicals there.
