Lichson starting 2009
You take your Ethics and other classes in St. Francis college. That's where we were sent if you still need pre-req's. In regards to my personal experience with the school and faculty. Well, you're pretty much on your own. You might want to learn how to read minds because some of the people in the office expects you to do such thing. 90% of the great teachers that we had left the school, I can't speak of the new ones. My advice to you is to read, read and read. Good Luck and hopefully the new teachers are also great if not even better.

I pity myself for being unemployed....
good for you spongebob6286. I've been looking. I think I've applied as far as 200 miles away from my house. Am still waiting and just watching the days pass me by, watch those new grads get their first job (that's with the help of somebody). I don't have anybody or know somebody in any hospital by me, so it is very hard to get this first job that everybody's been looking for. where are you located if you don't mind me asking?

OMG I PASSED 2nd time - I hope this will help others
I know of a few people including me have used SAUNDERS, and of course that includes answering at least 100 questions/day. It is divided into topics so it is easy to know where you need to study. Make sure to read the rationales at the end every exam. I only used this book on my 3rd try, my last week, I read my med/surge notes.

I pity myself for being unemployed....
@Trevor: Sorry to hear that, I understand and I know the feeling. I graduated in 2009 and still job hunting. I've been called to 2 interviews so far. Sent 100+ applications online, through snail mail, I've called HR offices a few times but to no avail. I am praying for me and for all of us to find a job anytime soon. This issue is getting older and the competition is also getting bigger. Hang in there.

Nurse201007: Yeah! I don't think I would call them again either. Maybe it's for the best that I didn't get the job. I find their operation disorganized and a bit impersonal. We maybe desperate for a job, but our TIME is also important and should be considered.

Just curious to know how your interview and exam went. Hoping for the best for you. I myself is jobless at the moment. It's been 2 years since I graduated. Applied to any hospital I could google, including nursing homes but to no avail. Well, hope it went well.

nurse32: I see you are working for them now. In my case, just a little background, I don't have any nursing experience and still haven't found a job since graduation (2 yrs.). Anyway, I haven't called them back yet. Maybe in a week or two. Do they train? If so, would you recommend it or someone who doesn't have a nursing experience? Thanks!

Work work , where are you?? _passer since 2007
You may also want to try SAUNDERS. A lot of us used it. The subjects are divided by topics and it gives you a graph of the exams (by topics) you've done with grades. That way, you'll know which topics you should concentrate on and or good at.

Favorite "Lay Terms" For Diagnoses
LOL ... an older lady I know calls her Diabetes "sugar" also. Might just be easier for them to remember it.

Great metro areas to work in the U.S. Today?
Just wondering, I don't think this has to do with the questions she asked. Sorry, thought I'd throw that out there.

I went to an open house. The HR really "liked" me. I was called for an interview for a CM HMO. First interview, I didn't have the chance to meet with the "lady" because she didn't show up, I was told this after waiting for 3 hrs. Then they called me to come back. Showed up for this second interview, just to be told that the position has been filled and "she" doesn't know where the confusion came from. I went home frustrated and upset. Thought it was a little disorganized on their part.

St. Luke's- Roosevelt Hospital, Beth Israel, LICH, NYEEI ; Continuum Health Partners
How come Continuum hospitals IE. Beth Israel who has a nursing school does not accept NEW GRADS? I have been checking their ADs and it's discouraging. Meanwhile, I graduated from one of the Nursing Schools affiliated with a Continuum Hospital. Also, my old school is not even willing to help me land a job with this unmentionable hospital, secondly, they would not even share/give information on how I would go about this. I graduated in 2009, it's now 2011. Frustrating!
