Thanks guys!

Yes and I'll definitely keep you guys updated

Hello Everyone,

I went to the Aug 15 event and I just picked up the email which was sent this morning around 11am. I also felt the tone was discouraging but am so glad KLW96 shared her experience. It's hard not knowing what the odds are. I wonder if everyone who attended the event is still in the "pool" ? If anyone received an invitation to interview for a position, please let us know!

Hello Everyone!

I, too, attended the August 15th event, and received the same email stating that I am a "strong candidate", but I agree that it seemed awkwardly phrased - the "Best of luck..." toward the end of it made me nervous. However, after reading all of your posts it does sound like just a vague update. I also received the email regarding the opportunity in the med/surg float pool, but it sounded like the outside company would be hiring, and I'm not sure I want to go end my process with NYP just yet - especially after investing all this time! I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that something comes through soon, & I'm trying to not be discouraged because I love NYP, but I feel like this is taking forever unfortunately. Please keep updating if you guys hear anything!

I'm hoping they don't take another 500 years to get back to us about this medsurg program

Does accepting this offer means we will no longer be in the residency program?

This med surg float program is new. It started last year. You receive orientation at nyp however u r contracted by an outside agency. The pay is also less than for a nurse on staff at nyp and I believe you work part time and not full time. This program is not a residency and after it I don't think u qualify for residency as u will already have experience. You also have to pledge to at least a year on contract. Verify with the recruiter if this is still the case.

Thank you EstrellaCR for letting me know. I'll email the recruiter to verify.

Hi All,

I attended the July Top New Grad event. I also received an email for a position in at Lower Manhattan campus. I had a phone interview and was told that I would be contacted by unit manager soon but never received anything for 2 weeks. I emailed the recruiter and she emailed me back that the position was already taken but they are considering me currently for other open positions. Guess, the wait just keeps going! Good luck to everyone!

What position was this for?

It was for a women's health opportunity on a Postpartum unit.

When did you receive the email?

I received it on August 11 and had a phone interview in the days immediately after. I was told I was going to hear from a unit manager shortly but never received anything. I then emailed the recruiter back and was told the position was given to another candidate but my application is being considered for other available positions. Not really sure if that is true or not but we've made it too far to give up hope. I know from other people that many people do not actually begin working until like November or December so it really is just all a waiting game.

Wow that's a very long wait!
