I have applied to Nassau Community College's Nursing Program for the third and final time. I have been declined two other times and if I get denied a third time I will not apply again. It is getting a little embarrassing that I keep on getting declined.

Their lose is another school's gain...

Russl, Glad that's cleared up. Looking forward to hearing the good news in the spring. I was going to apply to Farmingdale for Fall 10 if I didn't get into NCC this time. My nursing orientation is tomorrow! Yikes! :)

Karenanda, yes agreed. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. The good thing is that you can apply as many times as you'd like to any of the nursing programs! Where are you going for your nursing orientation?-good luck!

Karendanda- sorry for the mix up with 'where are you going for orientation' I got you confused with Kuklara, but yes good luck to you!

Karenanda- If you don't mind me asking, what were your grades in your pre-reqs when you applied?

I have the following:

A=ENG101

B+=PSY101

B+= A&P I

B+= A*P II

**Taking Micro now, Spring 2010

Russl, I got accepted to NCC and orientation is tomorrow there. I was taking pre-reqs there also. I was determined to get in and studied practically non-stop. I had gotten all A's in all pre-reqs except for a B+ in Statiistics. . January start is more competitive because they only took 40 students. Farmingdale is a good choice also because they consider 50% grades and 50 % pre-nursing exam.

They will consider your grades in other required courses for the nursing degree that are not pre-req also so taking more classes can bump up the average.

Karenanda, good for you wish you the best towards your nursing future. Okay, I currently have 60 credits-liberal arts, and this spring2010 is my last semester where I will receive 70 credits=Associates degree. Do you think that they will take into consideration that I will have manycredits/my associates. These are some of the classes I've taken that I think they will look at or take into consideration (besides the pre-reqs):

I got a B+ in sociology

I got an A in developmental psych

I got a B in general Chem

C+ in Statistics...got 90's on all of my tests unfortunately struggled with the final.

I applied a few weeks ago to Farmingdale as well

If you are going to apply to Farmingdale also HURRY!!! THeir deadline is on January 30th. I am taking my pre-reqs there now and applied 2 weeks ago. I got a call last week from an advisor telling me my grades are very good and she told me that I needed to take the pre-admission exam, so I signed up for that for next week because it is the only open test date that was available, hence I am going nuts studying for it. Thank goodness NCC dosnt have a preadmission exam.

Yes I did, I applied about two weeks ago as well to Farmingdale. I spoke to admissions and they told me because I am applying from another school to give them some time to sort through all the applications and to call back in the beginning of february. Kuklara, how did you already get a call about the exam?

Its not a matter of not wanting to hear it, it's just incorrect. That isn't what a wait list is. Thats what I was trying to clarify.

waiting list

-noun a list of persons waiting, as for reservations, appointments, living accommodations, or admission to a school

Thanks for the clarification..

Is it me....or is waiting for an acceptance/rejection letter from NCC feel like the LONGEST wait ever! UGH I dont know how I will make it until April...I'm so impatient!!! I really hope I get in!

hmm......Not sure what the point is here but a wait list does not go on for years....

Hey Everyone....it is the middle of April (FINALLY) has anyone heard anything yet? We should be getting letters within the next week or so. This has been the longest wait of my life it feels like.

I really hope I get in but I kinda have a bad feeling. I live in Queens, and I know Nassau usually excepts only Nassau Residents...I believe they get an extra point. I also heard students get an extra point if they are already Nassau Community College students which also I am not.

The good thing is I do have a 4.0 which all pre-rews done except Micro, Child Development and Sociology (Which I am taking in the summer) so I guess I just have to wait it out like everyone else.

Good Luck Everyone!
