LIJ January Critical Care Fellowship

I've been applying to the Critical Care Fellowships at LIJ for about 6 months and finally got called to interview for the January cohort a couple weeks ago! I had my second interview last week but haven't heard anything from HR. Did anyone else apply to/interview for this cohort? Has anyone heard anything?

For those that have previously gone through the fellowship, do you know how long it takes to hear back for the third interview? The anticipation is killing me! Thanks allnurses!

you should post to the already existing "Critical Care Fellowship" thread to get better reply. It is right below your post. Also, how did you get a callback from them? Did you do externship with them? I been applying since August and I have hospital experience, just not in critical care or medsurg. It seems the only way to get in is to work there already or have had an internship with NSLIJ.

Hi MissJessRN. I actually purposely opened a new thread because I specifically wanted to find people who applied for the January cohort. There are many posts on LIJ's fellowship but I really wanna know if anyone has heard anything back (the waiting game is the hardest part!!)

I did not have any connections there and didn't do an internship there, unfortunately. I just applied online and received a phone call for an interview. I know a few people who have had interviews there who did not have any connections. I don't know how they select people but I don't think it is based solely on connections. I think they get an extraordinary number of application so no matter who you, chances of getting an interview are slim. Also, I've read on their website that they consider applications in the order received. I think it helps to check several times a day and apply immediately when you see it open.

I am in the same situation but for a different fellowship they have in the OR. I had my second interview with the nurse manager last week and have yet to get a call back. They just recently posted for the critical care fellowship in January at south side hospital so I figured I would apply to it and other jobs in the mean time in case things don't go in my favor haha but hopefully you hear back soon and get an offer!

did you have you 2nd interview with a nurse manager? I've had my 1st interview with the recruiter, now I'm waiting for the second interview with the manager.

Congratulations! I had both my first and second interview. Which ICU are you trying to work in? Did you already schedule the second interview?

No, my 2nd interview isn't scheduled yet. I want to be at LIJ. Where are you trying to work?

I wonder why they keep reposting the fellowships...did they not get enough applications that met their requirements? Hard to believe though as they likely get hundreds if not thousands of apps.
