So I just came back from taking this test and like other posters, it was kind of difficult. It seems like if you have not been in school for a while or not working in med surg or on a floor, some of the questions maybe kind of difficult. The math questions were not difficult, tricky, but not difficult. It was the other questions. 50 questions. I am working with an agency so I guess they will call me when they get the results.

I took the exam 3 months ago and recently started working at KCHC. The calculations were easy in my opinion. The medication knowledge questions were challenging, had to know variety of meds and how they can be given by all routes. Passing score is 90% or 45/50 correct. You get a second chance to take it if your first score is not too far from a passing score. I interviewed at 3 other hospitals before KCHC and there Pharma tests were a lot easier than KCHC. I would advising studying the Medication Administration sections of Kaplan NCLEX-RN prep book (if your school provided that as part of school sponsored NCLEX Prep) otherwise Hogan's Review and Rationales for NCLEX has good Medication Administration sections.

Well it seems that I passed the test!!!! I am so proud of myself. They didn't tell what my score was which is fine. All I care about is if I passed.

Congrats! If you passed, your score was 90 or higher, as 90 is the passing score. Good feeling when pass the exam as it is challenging so passing means one is very smart. :woot:

When was the pharmacology test given? Day of the interview or another day?

I have an interview with kings county next week. Any tips on what to expect? Any help would be appreciated

The pharmacology is given on another day. First you are interviewed then if the ADN (Director of Nursing) is considering you, she invites you to take the pharmacology test. When I took it in February you just had to go to the Education office on a Tuesday or Thursday to take the exam and tell the proctor the name of the ADN who sent you. It is advised that you review pharmacology before you take it as the test is more challenging that most others hospitals' tests.

Im waiting to be cleared by kchc (background n all) so i can get the offer letter. I havent heard anything about the pharm exam though. Still waiting on that :-/

I havent picked up a nursing book in about a year. Im nervous about this pharm exam. How much studying will it require?!

Also EstrellaCR, are you on a med surg floor at kchc? How do you like it? What shift are u working? Is this your first nursing job?
