Hi AN!!

So I read tons here and I never thought I'd be the one starting a thread about freaking out over an interview....... But here I am!!!!

I'm going into my last year of nursing school, ADN. I was so disappointed this summer because I didn't land any internships, tech positions etc while in nursing school. I have about 5 years of experience as a medical asst. The job market is terrible here in NY and I was beginning to sink into the morbid "ill never land a job here" state, especially next year as a new grad.

Low and behold!!! I get a call today from NSLIJ!! I applied for a Nursing Attendant position a few months ago. We had a phone interview, it lasted about half an hour. I WAS SHAKING!!! She asked me the normal situational questions " Describe a time when you....., How would you handle......" At this point now I can't even remember the questions I was just so nervous. I haven't been on a job interview in about 5 years! She asked me salary requirements, and if I'd be available for orientation. I must've done and said everything right in my nervous stupor because now I have an interview with nurse manager on the floor! Tomorrow!

So I don't want to blow this!!!! This is basically one of the better if only ways to land an RN gig here as an internal applicant. I'm preparing a small portfolio with my résumé, cover letter, letters of recommendation from professors, list of references, and my HESI scores( above national average). What else should I put in the darn thing lol?!?!

What do you guys think the nurse manager will ask me besides the general "tell me about yourself"? Will there be more situational questions or am I passed that now from HR?

What kind of questions should I ask them??? Besides the obvious staffing ratio.

I'm ecstatic:)

Congrats in getting an interview! Why dont u think about the questions from ur last interview maybe it wud be of help.
