Does any one know of someone who has gone to BCC or is currently going there? I think I may be starting my clinicals there in the Fall. I know its kind of soon to be inquiring, but I am going into this program without any knowledge of the professors there, clinicals or anything. Thanks for your attention!!

Lynn:)

I graduated BCC in January 99. It is a very good program. However, be prepared to work very hard, as it is very demanding. The proffesors (at least while I was there) were knowledgable, but very strict and demanding - its a no nonsense school. The good news is when you graduate you are well prepared, and the licensing exam is easy compared to the tests at the school. Good luck.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. I have another question, did you work while doing the program, and did you do all your sciences before or during the program. I am scheduled to start in the fall of 06. I have A&P II & Micro to do, but Prof. ______ said I can do them along with the nursing classes, but I think getting them out of the would be better, since I work full time. Did you incorporate them in the nursing cirriculum or did you do them first? Thanks again, for your time

I worked during my time in Nursing Program - but only part time and very flexible schedule. It will be hard doing full time Nursing and working full time.

I did most of my sciences and stuff PRIOR to being in Nursing - but did take a Bio (A&P II?) and Chemistry class while in program. If you plan to work full time you may be better off delaying entry into Nursing and get as much of the Bio and Chem classes out of the way. Believe me the Nursing Program is going to consume your time and energy.

Thank you again for responding:)

I second that! The NCLEX-RN was easy compared to BCC's Nursing Quizzes and Finals!

Again, Good Luck! :)

Does BCC have an evening program? I have not taken any classes there but have heard it is hard to transfer into a CUNY nursing program.

They do not have an evening program per se, but they do offer some evening nursing classes. So if you were to call and ask if they have an evening program they would say no. You have to work full time during the day with a letter from your employer to register for evening classes or be 1199.
