i'm nervous, too but not that much. plus, i'm so mentally drained with my course load this semester, especially my anatomy class. can't wait til it's over. i just can't wait to start clinicals. a classmate of mine in the summer semester took it and she said she wasn't bad. too bad i don't see her anymore, i wanted to ask what review book she used. :o when i go to register for spring semester, i plan on finding out how soon i can take it.

I can't be too much help as far as the book/study guide issue because back when I took it I went in cold and hoped for the best. I passed every section.

I didn't find it to be impossible at all. At the time, I was mainly worried about the chem section, as it had been some time since I had taken a general chem class. The best I can do as far as advice is concerned is to tell you to brush up on areas you don't quite feel comfortable with... if you feel that you are ok in an area, I think you will likely do just fine.

What are the rules for passing/failing the Hesi A2 now? I know they changed it while I was still in school, but I dont remember what the change was. When I took it, we did it just before starting the 250 level and had to have a 76 (I believe this was the score) in each section in order to pass. Those who did not have that score in certain sections were able to "remediate" before the start of the semester.

According to the website: "Students are required to achieve a minimum average score of 70 on the HESI A2 Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, and Math sections to progress to the professional phase of the major." I'm not sure what is needed in the science section.I won't be taking it until sometime next semester.

Did you have to take an exam after every semester and pass it in order to prgress to the next semester?

Maybe it was 70 then too... but they did change something.

You will be taking HESI exams at the end of every semester. There are HESI exams for 250, 260, 350/Psych, OB/Peds, and 360, as well as a HESI Exit exam. Each is taken into consideration when determining your final grade for the course. They can bring your grade up substantially if you do really well, but also have the ability to bring your grade down if you do poorly. If a person does poorly on a HESI exam, but still passes the class, that person is required to do a remediation class during the following semester. If you do not pass the Exit HESI, you do not graduate.

I feel that the HESI is good for NCLEX preparation.
