Dorothea Hopfer nursing school

U.S.A. New York

Published

I just got accepetd to this school. Just wondering if anyone here has been to this school and what you've heard about it. Or if you know of anyone that has graduated from this school and what they thought of it. Any info will be helpful. I'm thinking of going there or maybe just going upstate to Alfred State. I'm leaning towards Dorothea because it's so much closer to home. NAd no relocation is a plus.

Thanks any info will help!

Keep us posted. One of the main reasons I chose Cochran was because they offered an accelerated program which luckily I got into so I will be done with my RN degree within a yr and a half. (Keeping my fingers crossed). But thr program is tough--there is no hand holding. LOL!

Visit the schools & see which one you like so you can make the best decisions.

Let us know what happens. Were rooting for you.

I sure will keep you guys posted. Thansk for your moral support..

i just graduated in june and i see that the requirements have changed. i loved my education there!!!! hard work, but definitely well worth it. everyone in my class that has taken the nclex so far has passed on their first try. majority of us passed with the minimum of 75 questions. i highly recommend hopfer. you can order the teas exam study guide thru ati testing - home

. good luck!

thanks! zphib_nurse

thats great congrads! :yeah:

i was able to go to the ati website and order the study guide im really looking forward to taking the teas an hopefully getting accepted to their program. hopefully you have found a job and able to enjoy what you worked so hard for

hey tanesha,

im considering applying for fall 2011 program also. =)

Yeah the requirements have changed, when I got accepted they only wanted a minimum of C in pre-reqs now its C+ and they changed the entrance test from NET to the TEAS. Not to mention I got accepted with a 2.9 GPA and a 92% on the NET so for those who thought a GPA that low wasnt possible it is. This school gave me a chance and I am doing well. I am currently in Nursing 2 (Med-Surg) and I love this school:heartbeat. Its HARD but the professors work with you, they show interest in your success.

I took the TEAS V last Friday, I highly recommend ... no, I IMPLORE you to get the ATI review book. It really helped me to understand the test and study for the sections in which I had problems. I scored in the 99th percentile, very happy! Doing the practice exams are key!!

Buy the book through Amazon.com, you will save @ $20 as compared with buying it through ATI.

Thinking of applying to Hopfer as a backup to accelerated BSN programs.
