Hi everyone!I am applying to the fall 2012 nursing program at Dorothea Hopfer and have been searching for reviews,I haven't found much, so if any one has graduated from or is currently attending Dorothea Hopfer I'd love to hear your experience their as a student.Thank you!

Well I'm sure hofper is not taking scores that low. They may have a min. score they take on paper but they will take the highest scores until seats fill up. I doubt anyone under 80 is getting accepted. Most people applying will have grades in the 90's and upper 80's. You need to be worried about your score comparing to those people.

Are you sure? That's pretty high for the Teas. Especially with this new version 5 that is required.I Hear this is the hardest it has ever been.

yea, most of the people I know that have taken the new version have a low 90 or high 80. Depending on how many people with those score apply and have the right grades will determine how many people under 80 will get in. Even if someone with a score of 70-something gets in, it definately wont be as low as as 50 or 60 something. But thats just my experience with people I know. I might check out the TEAS thread to see what other people are getting in with.

P.S And just so we are talking about the same thing, im talking about the program score.. not the composite score

Maybe we are not talking about the same thing..i'm not familiar with the different scores..but i'm talking about the overall score once the TEAS is taken..

How did you do on your TEAS?

have you heard back from Hopfer?

I got my acceptance letter from Hopfer 2 weeks ago! I just have to pass thr 2 classes im taking now (a&p2 and nutrition)... but im also waiting to hear from college of new rochelle which is a BSN which i really want to do.. the dilemma is i wont hear bacck from cnr until june but hopfer wants a $300 non refundable deposit.. what should i do?!?!

Congrats on your acceptance!..I was told from hopfer I wouldn't know until June but I got a decision late April early May and I didn't get in...so if that school says they won't let you know till June..you should try to talk to them and explain your situation..hopefully they well give u an answer..but I would give the deposit before its too late. Good luck!!

I submitted my application for the Spring '13 term. Is there anyone else here applying?

Hey I applied for Spring 13 evening program...went to the open house last Thursday...glad I went, very informative. I pray I get accepted...so far I like what I've experienced. Plus I hear nothing but positive things about Hopfer!

Hi MrsComboCurlz!

I also plan on attending one of the open houses in September. Is there any one thing in particular that stood out to you? I will be going into the program with all of the prereqs completed except for nutrition. It would seem some schools say nutrition is a nursing course, while others say it's not. I don't want to waste time completing a course that may not be accepted somewhere.

Well...I have ALL the Pre-Req's finished as well. But.......they've had some recent changes, before all prereqs had to be a grade "C" and up to be accepted. No longer so, now it has to be a grade "C+" and up to be accepted. This for me means I have to take Psych 101 over because I got a "C" in this course back in 1998! Sucks big time ;0( . So I'm just gonna knock it out now this semester at the CUNY School I did all my Pre Req's at. I start next Thursday. Also....Intro to Chemistry is not shown to be a Pre req for Hopfer on their curriculum but it is....Chem MUST be done b4 entering their program. The advisor told me this last Thursday at the open house upon going over my application w/ me. So thank God I did it already...most nursing programs want Chem anyway. So it's great going into the program having to do the Nurs classes ONLY! Lord knows its enought on its own! All the best to u in whatever ur doing...;0)

I had to take Sociology over because I got a C in it 17 years ago! Being that chemistry is not listed in their list of courses to complete, do they accept high school Chem? I was able to use high school Chem to complete my prereq in A&P.
