CUNY York BSN (generic) program

Hello,

I am looking for some information from any current or past BSN students of CUNY York BSN program. I am predominately interested in CUNY Lehman and SUNY Downstate because they have accelerated programs but I am also considering traditional CUNY BSN as well. Here are some questions I have?

When and where are clinicals done?

Do/did you like the program?

How competitive is admissions?

What is the NCLEX pass rate?

I live very close to York College so location wie it would be ideal. The only cons is that it is not accelerated and that there seems to be little info on the generic program from students. Thanks

kaisofine I did not apply to the program I was only inquiring because York is close to me and I want to obtain at least a BS in nursing but I already have a non-nursing BS degree and work in another field so I really am more interested in accelerated program. I contacted one of the faculty members via email and they informed me that NCLEX rate last year was about 85% and the program is full time day. From the website I read that the nursing program is very competitive and the nursing courses alone are at least 5 semesters, not including any classes that you may be required to take for the BS. That alone makes York a no go for me but if this is not an issue for you I would suggest trying to go to the school in person and possibly seek out a nursing student for info if you are in the area? Also check the website periodically for when they hold information sessions. Good luck!
