Also would anyone be interested in starting a Spring 2011 (newark) FB group?

I should have checked the mail, as my acceptance letter was in the mailbox since Saturday I guess. Thanks so much for the academic calendar link though! I searched everywhere on my letter and I swear there's no ID number. I'm going to call tomorrow to get more details. Thank you!
    Congrats!!

You'll get everything, such as book list, orientation info, ID, setting up your email, Financial Aid, etc in the second letter. That second packet has a whirlwind of info needed. Good luck to you at Stratford.

It's up to you. I will be honest, for me I spend more time on allnurses than FB. Come January, I may not have time for both. There is however, a UMDNJ Nursing FB page.

I'm awaiting a decision from Stratford about the Spring 2011 session. I'd love to ask you some questions if you have the time.

    Thanks!

Is anyone buying their books off Amazon? The publishers prices all added up for all the books we need is around 900$ in comparison to around 450$ on Amazon. Thoughts?

Buy your books where it's cheaper. I bought mine all over the place.

For level I, the only book I read was Patho all the rest remained in the shrink wrap and were sold back new. Almost all of the information that shows up on the tests are from the slides. If you have difficulty understanding the theory and need extra clarity, then I would use the textbook. Otherwise, you're wasting your time learning 10 chapters of very detailed material, when the information on the slides that is broken down for you, is what they want you to know. If you insist on getting the books, go with the older editions for about 1/10th of the price of newest edition. It'll be the same exact material with the exception of a few pictures.

8pack: from some of the things you just said, there seems to be a difference with Stratford and Newark. All the Level 1 students I spoke with and others who spoke with them said all books will be used for the semester. I will agree with you regarding old editions.
