I would like to hear from students of this program, do you recommend it? I can't imagine doing the didactic portion of a Nursing program online and then coming to campus/clinical sites for the rest of the program. Are students graduating from this program confident of their nursing skills and then going on to successfully pass the NCLEX?

I talked to the admissions office at Roseman and they said that the program was regionally accredited. I also found out that this program is a COHORT, so I suppose the program is sort of experimental.

I would love to hear from current or graduated students of this program.

Thanks!

Hi Tex,

We tried Sallie Mae but it sent out just my info and not my co-signer so it got denied again and I was feeling bad for my cosigner coz I didn't want to force her to do all that info stuff again. And she's paranoid of the web application. So we're gonna try Wells Fargo this Tuesday. I'll see if I can give sallie mae a call and maybe we can all do it over the phone.

Ty again for your inputs Tex. You seem to know what's going on. I really appreciate that! :)

Wow, thanks for all who responded about this school. I had this school in my sights and had chatted with an on-line rep about admissions. I was interested in the ABSN program, but I will need a bit more hand holding than it seems Roseman offers. I can go to school full-time, but with a family it's doubtful that I would be able to keep up with a fast pace. I will keep an eye on this thread to see if anything changes.

hi randyman986, I know you just started at Roseman, how is it so far? Are you on a regular BSN program? I am about to apply for the BSN program, but I am now worried and afraid after reading all the post.

I would appreciate your honest opinion, if it's worth going to Roseman BSN program.

Thank you

hi greyctoLV,

Did you mean October 2013 start? Are you currently in the program right now? I have read some honest opinions about Roseman and in the hope that since some of them where in 2012, I am hoping that things are changing for good for the future students.

Any honest opinion about the BSN program?

Thank you.

Hey Randyman986, I believe that I attended the same interview session that you did on July 18th, and was also accepted into the program, but I ran into the same obstacle as you...can't get a private loan, and I have no co-signer. So, I rolled over my admission date to the February 2014 cohort to have more time to find a lender. Just wanted to ask how things worked out for you and see if you have any advice for me.Thanks and good luck in the program.

Dang, I'm surprised this thread is still up. I haven't checked in for a while. Anyway, I declined the acceptance letter from Roseman. I couldn't get a private loan and the more I applied to other lenders, the less my credit rating went. When I talked to the Roseman admissions, they didn't even offer rolling my application over. No big deal though.

I decided to take some of my old science classes (A&P 1 and 2 -- since they're over 5 y.o.) and try for the community colleges here in Reno and see what happens. That's all I guess. I'll try to apply again maybe and see how it goes, with the loans and all.

Goodluck to you guys and post back any experiences.

Good luck to all of you starting soon!! I graduated from the ABSN in April so it is doable!!

Bumping this thread since I'm looking to apply to Roseman.

Any students in or graduates from the BSN program? If so, please pm me feedback or post about your experiences.

From what I've researched it seems the most significant difference between the ABSN/BSN program is length/teaching styles (14-15 months vs 18, (online/hybrid vs all classroom).

You will find more differences between the ABSN/BSN programs than what shows on the surface. BSN has more time to study for sure, but they also have different standards in what counts as part of their 90% and what doesn't and more time for "re-takes" for exams "failed" at less than 90%.

The ABSN program is definitely for a person who can withstand the daily stress of not knowing if you will be there after each exam no matter how hard you study. Sometimes the "pass" boiled down to how many failed the exam (

ABSN program you must pass each test with 90% or above. You usually have a midterm and a final. These tests are given mostly on Fridays. If you fail a test, you re-take it on Monday. If you fail to get 90% of above on the retake you are OUT. You are out of the program. You can then either wait for the next cohort to come through and start that module over again with the next cohort, or look for another school. If you choose to come back with another cohort and you fail to pass any test in the future with the new cohort, you are out of the school for good. That's it.

You must pass each lab, paper, etc with 90% and above. Grades are NOT averaged.

Anyone who manages to get through this program can get through anything and the NCLEX is no problem. The clinical skills learned during hospital rotations will depend on what hospital you are assigned, as it will change with each module.

Just make sure to read all the posts and BELIEVE them, they are true.

I graduated ABSN. Passed NCLEX 1st time and have been working acute for the past year and a half.

Hope this helps.

Best Wishes and Good Luck:x3:

Hi, I am new to this forum hoping to get some questions answered from prev or current student from Roseman ABSN program. For those who attended year 2013/2014, is it do-able if I plan to focus on the program 24/7? Meaning no work, just fulltime studying. I read some negative feedback on here and I don't feel so confident anymore. Can you please elaborate on what the program is like (exams, hwk, clinical)? I heard prev students said they could olny retake the exam once, but I recently talked to an admission adviser, and I believe she said 6 times?

Ykieu

Very interesting, I find it very questionable that Roseman changed from 1 retake to 6 retakes.. I would definitely talk with someone currently in the program and the next thing is that there is simply NOT enough time to retake an exam 6 times!!! If you merely talked with an "adviser" on the phone, I would not totally believe what they say. Go online and find the current student manual and it will give you all the "fine print" details that will not be explained to you....all the details that you will discover once you are in the program.

The ABSN "is" a 24/7 program and then some. It is unlike any program you have ever experienced before and no matter what you think it will be like, multiply it by 1000 and you might get the real picture. If you review the posts regarding the ABSN program you will understand what it is really like. You will not have time to do anything else except study, go to labs, meet with your group, do online assignments and prepare for lab exams and written exams. Most of the time you will not have enough hours in a day to get through all the material given and you will have to prioritize your time and perfect your own method of studying to get the most benefit from your studying.

We made it through Roseman with lots of blood, sweat and tears and hopefully you will too!

Best wishes!

how do I private message someone on this forum? Im new and I cant seem to find the PM button.

Thanks TEXT.
