I would like to hear from students of this program, do you recommend it? I can't imagine doing the didactic portion of a Nursing program online and then coming to campus/clinical sites for the rest of the program. Are students graduating from this program confident of their nursing skills and then going on to successfully pass the NCLEX?

I talked to the admissions office at Roseman and they said that the program was regionally accredited. I also found out that this program is a COHORT, so I suppose the program is sort of experimental.

I would love to hear from current or graduated students of this program.

Thanks!

Do you feel like you are getting a good education from them? Are they organized as far as clinical placement? Thanks for the response.

Hi mfallona,

I feel like I am getting a good education here at Roseman. I am in the ABSN program at the Nevada campus. In this program, your success comes primarily down to your discipline. But I feel Iam beeing very well prepared for the NCLEX. So far we have had no trouble with clinical placement. The only complaints have been individuals preferring to be in a different hospital or department. SO far I ave spent time in Rehab, Med-Surg, and a mental care facility. I have learned from and enjoyed them all. Cheers!

I have been a student at Roseman since July 2015. I am very happy with the education that I have received so far. The 90% on the exam is stressful but very obtainable. Like any nursing program students will have to put in time and study on a daily bases. I like the ABSN program because I can study on my own time and I am not responsible for being in a classroom on a daily bases. One aspect that I really enjoy is the Block style classes. In short it is like taking summer school for 15 months. You only need to focus all your attention on one class at a time. If you are self motivated student and possess good time management skills the ABSN program is a great option. Nursing school is not going to be easy at any college, and you will have students that do not succeed. Roseman want to see students succeed in the classroom, on the NCLEX, and in nursing. Roseman has added a "super remediation" meaning that students now have a third opportunity to take the exam and pass it. Teachers and academic success counselors are available by appointment too help any students who may be struggling with the material. I would recommend Roseman for anyone looking into a fast passed nursing program.

Hey,

I am currently a student in ABSN program at Roseman University of Health Sciences. Yes, I would recommend this program. The didactic portion is fast paced, but doable. Each block has laboratories to help you be prepared for clinicals. I just finished my second round of clinicals. I got report from one nurse, who was a Roseman alumni. Roseman has a 100% pass rate for the NCLEX. They program is not experimental. The "cohort" means which year you will graduate. You will be placed into groups. Your group members become your friends and family. I have 10 months left until graduation. I am confident that Roseman will prepare me for my nursing career after graduation.

Thanks!

For those doing the ABSN in Utah what books are you required to have? Thanks

I will be starting in July and was wondering what my weekly schedule would be like? How are the didactic and experiential blocks like?

Any tips on how to prepare?

I just did an interview for the ABSN program in the Nevada Campus. I have had a positive experience with the whole process thus far. I really liked the school and the admissions advisers have been exceptional in follow-up with me, which I have never experienced before in any other school. The main campus building is pretty nice for a renovated factory setting. The simulation labs are top notch- I can only compare to San francisco states simulation lab, and Roseman had a bigger more spacious simulation setting than SFSU. They have the same technology, and I was told they were the only nevada school with their own simulations lab. I liked how the school if very utilitarian, not a big commons lounge, but had what a student needed in order to be a successful health professional. The program seems totally doable, with the added remediation times and extra learning support. Most of all the advisers and financial aide team seemed genuine. They did a good job revamping the program and I was told that only one student dropped out in the year of 2015 due to personal problems that had nothing to do with the actual program. I'm excited about my prospects and I hope I get in :))))) Vegas has really cheap rents, and I want my own apartment with a pool, which you don't get in san francisco soooo... yeah I hope I hear back from them soon.

@jjlr

I don't think you get weekly schedule information until you get a syllabus for your classes, and from the interview they said every block varies in schedule for labs and clinical. There is also a didactic preview video on how the online learning modules look like on their website.

If you are doing ABSN you would essentially be working on your own time. There would be an open lab that you would sign up online for, again kind of on your own schedule. Depending on the length of the the class you would have a review day on campus the day before the exam and then be on campus for the exam. Most reviews are morning sessions (8-12) and the testing can be all day with a longer lunch break depending on how large your "class" is. Most test days for my class of 50 are done by 2.

If you are doing traditional BSN its a bit different and I would explain if that is what you are pursuing.

Hi everyone. I am thinking of applying for the ABSN program but I see nothing but negative post. I was think about applying for the summer start, which is only 2 months away. Seeing everyone's comments gives me little doubt I can pass this program. I am and always have been a B average student and I have a learning disability. In your honest opion, does anyone think this a doable program for someone with my challenges. I am a hard working student and I do work will with others my only think setting my heart a little back is the negative comments and the fact it is only on your own studying. No real learning from a profeasor.

Can u provide more info about traditional BSN program in this school...thanks

Hello,

I am currently in the ABSN program. Block 5 to be precise. I would seriously urge you to look at the newer post. Like you, I was slightly skeptical in attending Roseman University. however, I can only say that everything that people have mentioned several years back have drastically changed now. The Dean. Dr. Oxhorn have changed the program for the better. Now please, be aware that all nursing schools are difficult, this is no exception. You will definitely need to put in a lot of effort. But the program is design so that your classmates and professors are there for you.

couple of things that I want to emphasize:

this is technically primarily online. but I guarantee you that it will not feel like it. You will mostly need to more here if coming from a different state.

couple of things I want to note:

This is very fast paced. The first couple of blocks take 2-4 weeks each.

Do not be scared with the 90% pass rate requirement. To give a perspective, 5 blocks into the program, we have not lost anyone in our cohort of 43 people.

If you are a study group person, this will work for you despite being an online heavy program. Those that can study on their own will do very well here, as well as those that like online classes.

last note:

At its current state, I can honestly attest that our current program is above average. There are very passionate and caring professors in this program. Now is it perfect? No, but so far, I have no problems at all.
