Fall 2018 CSN Hopefuls?

U.S.A. Nevada

Hello Everyone! After much consideration I have decided to apply for CSN ADN and then I will do the RN-BSN program at NSC. It is more cost effective for me that way. I am in the summer Biol-189 course right now with hopes of getting into AP1 for Fall 2017. I am planning on taking Micro online with Marian University to get some more points in before the March 1, 2018 deadline. Then AP 2 in the Spring!

Is there anyone else out there working on Fall 2018 admission? Where are you in the process???

Have any of you heard about the cutoff points for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2017 cohorts? I wanted to apply for the part time, but considering CSN only accepts 16 people vs the 100+ for the full time, in addition to that I won't have everything done then full time it is for me.

Good of luck to you all! 😊

Well I was in the military so the position is very specific to former military medics. It's called an intermediate care tech. Which is difficult to explain. But it is way more than a cna, in some instances more than an lpn but the position only exists with the va system so i could not go private practice and do this job. So this is a tramendous opportunity. BUT it is full time! They basically asked me which department of the 5 or so I wanted! Obviously ICU and ER are first choice experience wise but schedule wise when throwing school into the mix... what have you heard of working full time while doing the part time program? I've been a stay at home for 5 years so all of a sudden going back to work and school at the same time is frightening

Congratulations!!! I am prior military too... so those extra points make a difference. I wanted to tell you that my daughter currently works at the VA Hospital. Did you know the VA offers to pay you your current wages, if you go school to obtain your BSN. You have to have all your pre-reqs completed and ready to enroll in a BSN program. VA only offers tuition and pay for the UNLV BSN program and sign a contract to work for the VA once you complete the program and obtain your RN license. Hope this helps... GOOD LUCK in your decision and future endeavors.

Hello everyone,

We're moving from California, and here we have to complete 60 units before applying. What is it like there? I have to take the Psc 101 class there, but should be good to apply soon. What are the hours and days, and what is the admission process like there? It's so impacted here in Cali, and almost impossible to get in. Any advice? We're moving to Las Vegas this summer.

Also, what can be taken online there?

Hi, everyone. I am currently a student at UNLV and am not quite sure how things work over at CSN. Does anyone know if we are still allowed to apply for the fall 2018 program even though the deadline passed? Is there a limit to how many times you can apply to the program? Also, if I have yet to take the TEAS, can I still apply with a 0 points for that section and take the exam before the program begins? Without the points for the exam I would have 27 points... I took the HESI and scored a 94% but I know they do not accept this exam. Thank you, everyone!

Before applying the applicant must attend the Health Program limited entry program orientation, meet with a health programs advisor and attend (online OK) the limited entry application workshop.

The advisement sheet for Fall 2018 says "Applications received after the Application deadline will only be considered if space permits." The Fall 2019 advisement sheet (available online) says no applications will be accepted after the deadline.

For csn , you must attend a health programs orientation, limited entry orientation, AND health programs advisor; furthermore, in order to apply it is required to have completed, bio 189, bio 223, psy 101, May 120, and eng 101 and take and oss the TEAS with a minimum passing score on each section. They will not accept the hesi and I'm guessing technically you could still apply on a space available basis, but acceptance results are supposed to come out in less than 2 weeks

Okay.... with the next two weeks probably going to go as slow as molasses, does anyone want to volunteer to call and see if they'll give us a date or confirm the 9th still!?

I'm putting all my money on the 9th.

You should join "CSN Nursing Fall 2018" on facebook. Someone stated the calls wont be going out until the 16th or 23rd, who spoke with Tina today.

So I emailed ---------------- on Friday and asked if they were really going to have the results this week or if we were still a few weeks away she said that they're still processing applications have not made any decisions yet and it's looking closer to the 27th

Oh man the 27th?!? That's crazy and sooooo far away! I was hoping they finished ahead of time and would do it today lol :) did she happen to say how many applications they're sorting through (separate counts for full time and part time)??? If it's taking almost the full 60 days from the application deadline to review it sounds like there was a large amount submitted!
