Someone else in the Nevada forum called Apollo for information. They said they were told it was $38,000!!!! for their program (Associate's degree). I decided to call them myself to get a little info out of curiousity but they did not call be back (this was maybe a couple of months ago). Their website doesn't offer any details either, just a phone number to call. I know they have provisional approval from the state board but I don't know about their regional accreditation.

kizzykatlove,

Hi. I noticed you graduated from CCSN. I was just accepted into the Fall 07 RN program. How was the program? I have 2 kids and a husband and am wondering is there time for them during the program? What did you find the most difficult? Did you enjoy the program??

We haven't received a list of uniforms or supplies (until orientation). I would like to ask, can you wear cargo pants? I wanted to order some Dickies scrubs (cargo) but am I jumping the gun?

Also, are you limited to a certain stethescope? I also wanted to order a Littman Cardiology stethescope.

Any info. you can share is appreciated.

not to scare you.. the program is very intense... we had 15 people fail in the last semester alone. i started in the LPN to RN bridge so i didn't have to do that dreaded first semester.marty is a real good teacher i never had him , but i did take kaplan review for boards from him. i found alot of it diffucult even being a LPN in the course. it's a excellent program and they train you for boards throughout the program.. just be prepared to be exhausted for the whole program. i worked full time in the hospital while going to school full time. i love the teachers , i really like them all. i don't know many teachers from the first semster only marty . it's worth the agony and torture.. you can do it.. it's worth being a RN. i just wore a white uniform with normal side pocket pants and normal top.. no scrubs.. no one in my class wore cargo pants.. keep your shoes clean and white . i just used my plan littman i use at work.. nothing fancy... you will learn lots and then you will be a RN.. yippeeee..let me know how you do.. keep me updated.. congrats ...

AJK1,

I was wondering how many points you had that got you in to CCSN. I am not applying until Spring, but wanted to compare how many points I would have had to what Fall students needed. I am driving myself crazy wondering if I will get in or not. Thanks in advance.

They changed the point criteria for next semester. This semester I believe I had 22 or 23 (I can't remember). Have you completed your A&P I and II?

I have all of my pre-reqs and have a 4.0 in those classes. I also have all of the other classes and got a 128 or 129 on my nln test (which ever score = 2 pts.). The only pts. I won't have are the 2 for experience or certificates. So, for Spring I will have 30 pts., hopefully it will be enough. Good luck and please keep us posted as to how the first semester goes.

I have not personally spoken with Apollo, but there are a few students in my class (BSN program at UNLV) that have supposedly called Apollo and the BON, and apparently they have no accreditation. Not sure how accurate that info is -- I do know they are not accredited by the state because the BON does not list their NCLEX pass rates.

apollo no acreditation.. scary.. would seem like a waste of money to go to school there..

They're listed on the BON's site as one of the schools with "Provisional Approval Only" along with NSC, USN and Touro...like the others, they're probably in the process of getting accredited.

Yeah it was 38,000 I remember being like GOOD LAWD and they aren't accredited yet until they graduate that first class. First classes I think started in Jan!

hi,

i finished my first semester in may 2007 and i am from ccsn. i bought my uniforms and supplies after the orientation and it was all white uniform and no scrubs.

when i started in first semester, my son was just newborn baby, it was a difficult class (nurs 101). the best thing is never get behind reading the chapters, we had a big book. .

we lost 45 students in the first semester.

as i know for nurs 101 there is no choice to choose the instructors for class except class timings. for nur 101 class we had two instructors, one for monday class and one for tuesday class (same book and course for both). but for clinical and lab we had choices.

if you have further questions feel free to send me message.:welcome:
