what to do now?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone! Need some advice. I graduated in February 2012 with my ADN and have not yet passed the NCLEX. I am very discouraged and feel I have been out of school so long now and have not studied in a while that I have forgotten so much information. I don't know how I will be able to pass my boards now... I feel so far gone. I really want to be a nurse though. Is there a way I can take certain classes again, such as med-surg and critical care nursing so I can get the basics back again?! Or does anyone have any recommendations. I have taken review classes, but didn't help. (I feel so dumb) ugh. any advice would be great. thanks you.

Hi Rosa,

Try not to stress out. It just means you have to put in a little extra study time to go over core content. What review classes have you taken and what were the results?

Hi Rosa, you are not alone. I graduated in 2008, and because of situations out of my control, I couldn't do the NCLEX-RN back then. I did the NCLEX RN many times and failed. It is a bitter pill to swallow. But, I am not giving up because I worked too hard for this. My problem is second guessing myself on the exam. I always think they are trying to trick me. I about to purchase the 8 weeks study plan from NCSBN/Learning-ext. I will not give up until I pass the NCLEX and you shouldn't give up either. With God all things are possible. I know I will make and you will too.

you should enroll on a review program, and just follow it to the teeth.. the saunders book is great for content review, which also includes thousands of practice questions.. start by taking comprehensive tests, to see where you where you stand and go from there.. But once again, one of those review programs will be better as they are a little more structured, and they'll go over everything you need to go over..

I graduated in June 2012 and have failed my exam twice. It's been a while since I've graduated as well, but right now I'm currently taking Hurst Review, which is a content based review. Let me tell you right now, I highly recommend it. It's simple but yet they get right to the point. They really give you the why's. Overall, I just recommend that you try researching some reviews that suits your needs. Going through old nursing textbooks just seems like it would take forever. I wish you the best of luck in studying to prepare for this exam. God bless! :)
