US NCLEX vs. Canadian....what's the differences..if any

Nursing Students NCLEX

I hope this isn't a stupid question but I heard from wherever that the NCLEX is called something else in Canada. Is this true? Is there a big difference in the questions? I took the NCLEX for fun....that's right..fun...on a Friday night (no life) and gave up. I borrowed a book from the library and got all cocky. :chuckle Some of the questions were all common sense and then I got stumped. Many many times.

I was going to post this in the Canadian nursing forum but there was also the student nursing forum and the pre-nursing forum so instead of posting it 3 times...I opted for here. Hope its cool. :)

I am a Canadian, I have done the CNO exam 1993 and in 1994 did the NCLEX in Florida.

I found the US exam to be similar to Canada with the exception of lab values and to medications. I reviewed US lab values due to the difference from Imperial (US) and metric (Canada).

That is my two cents.

NCLEX isn't called something else in Canada. It is only available in the US for licensure in the US. Canada has their own exam...............

Yeah..I get it now.... :chuckle

I guess I should have asked what the licensing test is called in Canada.
