TooK NCLEX RN today--Pray for me

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi all I studied for the NCLEX RN for 3 weeks 8-10 hours a day and I took it today and seriously felt like I did not know the answers to any of the questions. The computer cut off at 75 questions I started my test at 1pm and I was home by 220. I am so nervous I did do the Pearson Vue trick and got the "good pop up" I pray it is accurate guess I'll find out in 2 days oh and did I mention last night I got food poisoning but still had to take my test today so pray for me.

Well, if you got "delivery successful" and the good pop up, you have almost certainly passed. It's very, very rare that you get that popup and fail. The fact that the computer shut off at 75 meant you were at or above passing standard well enough to stop the test at that point. The only thing you can glean from going past 75 questions is that you're near passing standard so the computer has to continue to hammer you until it concludes with good certainty pass or fail. Fortunately, you didn't have to get that experience, so you simply "passed" at 75 and you're going to be on to bigger and better things from here on out. When that will be is anyone's guess...

I passed!!!!

What did you use to study?

What did you use to study?

I used a 3 week course from NCSBN (they make NCLEX) and I used Saunder's 5th edition CD for questions, LaCharity PDA (strongly recommend), Exam Cram RN and I used Kaplans Strategy book.

Hi... Congrats!!! If you didn't know the answer, how did you select?? Coz I gave my exam on 24th, texas bon....I got 110 questions, 15 Sata,2 exhibit,1 med cal,1 EKG... Till 75 I was ok... After 75 I was unable to select the answers....I did not pass... So can you please tell me how you selected the answers when you didn't know.....

Nit ya I just really thought critically about the answers and just picked the one I thought was most right.

Unfortunately you didn't pass but I don't know how the heck you remembered how many sata questioned you had? Please don't tell me you were counting? Good Luck in the future as a RN and retake, also be careful sharing questions from the boards it's illegal

MODERATOR NOTE:

Please remember that discussing ANY question that was on the NCLEX is a HUGE No! No!

Congratulations:yes:

While there are some secrets to the NCLEX, there really aren't any secret ways to answer the questions. Choose the most right answer that leaves your patient safer, gets you more information, is most therapeutic, or is a "pure" nursing response.

Remember to breathe. Don't panic, read the question, answer the question in your mind, then read the answers, and re-read the question. Sometimes you might read the answers and realize that you may have misread the question because the answers don't match up with what you thought. Yes, I've done that... and suffered the consequences of mistakenly answering the wrong way because I misread the question and knew the right one!
