Took NCLEX RN stop at 75 twice & FAILED.3rd Time stop at 75 AGAIN & got the POPPED UP

Yes you read it right........

I took NCLEX RN test and stop at 75 questions THREE (3) times. I graduated in October 2006 in the Philippines and came to Florida on December 2006. I gave birth to my second on 2007. I took my first exam on October 2008 using Kaplan, actually I did the review twice before taking the NCLEX RN exam. The first time I paid it, second time my company paid for it. On October of 2008, I took the exam and failed.... I felt mix emotion...I said to myself, well its ok to fail for the first time, at least I saw the test. I will try it again next time. I realized the the first time I took it I didnt know the content plus prior to my exam we were fighting and arguing with my husband.:argue:

I went to Barnes and Nobles and just checking the NCLEX book. I saw this book by Marlene Hurst and just scanning to see the inside. I was encouraged by her book. Because its not boring not like the Saunders book, I'm so overwhelmed to read the book. So when I got home, I search Hurst review and found out that they have actually a review course in 2 days. So I signed up at the last minute. Her review was easy for me to understand like understanding the electrolytes and etc. But still did not take the exam after the review because of my job. I have to request for a vacation from my nurse manager. Then I found out they have another review last January 2009 and attend the second review because it was free. I was telling myself I need to really be good with content because I was weak with it. On July 2009 I felt confident that if I know my content I will pass it. Prior to my exam we had a fight and argument with my husband again! :smiley_ab I knew that it will affect my exam again. On the way to the center we were arguing, and my daughter was vomiting in the back. I was scheduled to take my exam at 11:15AM. My husband said, we will just take our breakfast near the testing center. But we did not expect what is going to happen on the way. There was traffic bceause there was 2 accidents happened. So I got only 5 minutes for the 30 minutes prior to my exam. I said to my husband, FINE! i'm not gonna eat I will just take my exam. I got a feeling that this will not be a good result. So I took the test and my stomach was rumbling and I got a terrible headache:o. I was so stressed with the arguments. I took my break after 40 questions coz I couldnt handled it anymore. I went to the restroom and was crying there. Then I went back and stop at 75. My friends was asking me about how did I go for the test. I said to them I FAILED! Because I could not concentrate. When I got home i tried the Pearson Vue trick and it lead me all the way to CC page! Well, I argue again with my husband. This time I went to sleep with my friend's house. I told my nurse manager about the result and my marriage problem. He understand it.

Now on my third attempt, my friend told me to take the NCLEX 3500 just practisng questions and reading rationales. I called Hurst review to re schedule the remedial course for next year since I did not pass and just try what my friend was suggesting. I started studying the NCLEX 3500 last September and ask my friend to help me out with taking care of my 2 kids. I scheduled my exam on October but felt unpreprared so I keep on re scheduling and re schedulling my exam even though my friend was telling me just take it. I have a calendar that I wrote down my scores after testing. And I was averaging to 60 to 74%. I want to make it to 75% but I couldnt. This time I only worked two days from my job and really concentrate on my review. Becuase the last time I have been working 3 or 4 nights in the night and taking care of the kids during the day. I used NCLEX 3500 and Kaplan question trainer 1-7 which I downloaded from a free website and if I dont understand I used the Hurst, and the Saunders book. I made sure that I understand the rationale and read the strategies by Kaplan. Only with the critical thinking page I found out that I'm weak in Analysis. So when I take the exam I only choose the Analysis for practise. I have been meaning to but the Prioritization, Delegation by Linda La charity prior to my second exam. But due to finacial problems I did not buy it, thats what one of the things we are arguing with my husband. This time one week before my exam I bought the Prioritization, delegation book. I have a friend who is also studying for another course and cannot review at home becuase she has to take care of her kid during the day. So we went to Dunkin Donut to do the review there we drink coffee :smilecoffeeIlovecofbefore the review. I usually dont drink coffee but since its night time I want to make sure that I used that time to review. We did the review from 1 to 5am for two days. My last review was last Friday. Saturday reviewed my labs and memorize the pharmacology mnemonics, infection control and also listen to my KAPLAN audio which I downloaded from I-touch but did not really listen to everything becuase my toddlers was using it to play from the free games that I downloaded. And guess what, my husband is starting to argue with me again but this time, I tried to keep calm and did not fight with him. I went to church last sunday, and I was crying because my husband was stressing me out. After that I went for a massage in the afternoon. It did help becuase i was not feeling good due to my stress. Last night I prayed and I claimed in the name of the Lord that I'm going to pass this. I was hoping that I will dream that I will pass this exam as I was hoping from my prevoius exam that the Lord will give me a sign but never dreamed of it. Last night I really dreamed that I heard my name passed! I felt good and really was thinking positive. I did not think that I will fail the exam. This morning I went to take my exam and this time in another center. From the previous 2 exam it was the same center and it was an hour to get there. This one was half an hour. I drink the coffee from Dunkin donut which I bought yesterday and just re heat it, LOL! So that I will not feel sleepy during the exam. While on the way, I browse my labs eventhough they said not to cram. My exam was scheduled at 10AM I arrived there at 9:23. I decided to use the stairs and the testing center was on the third floor. While climbing the stairs I keep on praying to the Lord practising deep breathing and thanking the Lord. The people there were so nice much better that the previous center. I really felt good. And I really could not think that I will fail this. When I was in my desk I wrote my labs and mnemonics and took the exam. I was praying that I wont get calculation questions coz I am not really good with calculations most especially conversion eventough they said calculations are easy but for me I hated it! So I was having smooth sailing on answering the questions until I got a math question on question 68! MY GOODNESS!! Its a conversion!!!!! :angryfire I felt like OH MY GOD! I think i'm failing coz I got a math question! Well fine! il just answer it and maybe they will not give me another one.

Yup I was happy that I did not get another one until it stopped at 75! Whew! I was relieved and was very happy to finish it. I used the stairs again and thanking the Lord. Thank you , thank you Lord! (while crying and singing:cry:) When I was outside the building I was still thanking the Lord! I was feeling good that it stopped at 75! When I went home, I was still crying and thanking the Lord. I really feel better that I finish the exam. I went to read the pearson vue trick in this website then try to do it. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! I GOT THE POPPED UP:yeah: I was screaming and crying again! Like everybody did, I did try it over and over again:D! At least my anxiety went down but of course not totally until I will see my license number.

To all the moms there, having problems with marriage life please..........................DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL HELP YOU! BELIEVE IN GOD AND CLAIM THAT YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.
