Is there a fee to get your license?

Ive been reading about a 'fee' before you could get your license. What fee is that?? They said it is after you pass NCLEX...you pay a....fee...? Does anyone know what this is because Im waiting for my license and if there is a fee I will need to pay 'it' but I dont know what it is.

Majority of states you pay first when making your application but Ca for instance on their PN allow you to sit the exam first and pay for license when you get your results, the license isn't issued until you pay
